Electrical isnt super hard, but its definitely time consuming to do right and keep it looking nice.

It’s definitely valuable to know your setup inside and out though in case you ever have issues to need to change something later on.

I figured it wouldn't be awful to run it myself but you're right knowing how it's put together will make life easier if I want to make changes.

That's my biggest issue is the time, I'm definitely one of those people that has 5 projects going on at one time and I always procrastinate on one and I can see the wiring being that project. You're also right about knowing the setup if there are issues that arise troubleshooting will be that much easier.

Either way, I've still got plenty of time to decide on what direction I want to go with electrical before I pull the trigger. I still have yet to see one up close and I'm pretty interested to see how different it is from the FlipPac. I'll be in Payson in April and considering Prescott isn't terribly far away I'm going to try and stop by their shop to take a look at the Habitat. I'm sure I can get a better idea of their factory wiring and make a call from there.

I went to the shop before i bought mine too. It was definitely helpful in deciding what i wanted to do.

@Taco505 if you want to check out an AT camper I've got an Atlas down in Ruidoso. It's not nearly the same as the habitat, but you can get an idea of workmanship and quality and see how they run solar wires and all that stuff.

Sweet! I didn’t realize you upgraded to an atlas. I might be able to get a trip in down south been wanting to get down to white sands again.

In a side note I’m gonna shoot you a pm and see your thoughts on a bed brace idea I have.

this was 'prototype', have meant to redo with higher quality parts, but this works without being in my way. connects to steel plate tied to forward bed bolts.

I actually sold the tacoma altogether and got a Tundra and the Atlas. The space in the camper is awesome and AT makes a really nice camper. Hit me up if you are ever this way.

Ah totally I saw your post a few pages back didn’t realize it was you but that’s a pretty good idea to keep things in place.

I love the Atlas. The setup and breakdown are really easy with the hardtop vs. the giant tent. The space of the habitat is nice, but the Atlas doesn't seem to be lacking much space at all.

Yeah exactly! It would be because im 6’2” so wedges are short at the feet. The less material is ideal for winter camping. I have no kids (that i know of) so i dont need all the room in the habitat

Negative... between my rubber latch placement (they have a long arc when prying closed), the lack of support for brace mounts, and the distance out were just not worth it. And I (the truck) already need to go on a diet. Ended up selling to a van guy

I would have to mount the brackets here, and with the V1 composite siding, I'll just carry a tarp and secure to the L track if it gets that hot or rainy
