I get that. But no clue what I’m putting up top. Mostly got it to help with my dead bug collection on the hab.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Either a couple boxes, one long box (for chairs, sun shades, etc), solar or maxtraxx.

I had the Sherpa Animas... way thicker and fits perfect! 10/10 would recommend sherpa over cbi/prinsu. Oh and it cheaper than prinsu. when cbi bought them they bumped the price to gouge based off brand name.

The 31” is too short, and the 43” too long needing cutting as well. I tried to work with Sherpa but their folks never got back to me after the initial contact was made.

Also, I’m now like $400 into this thing, but I didn’t know that outcome.

Yes, the 43” rack would be too long and require cutting down

Double cab short bed. My overhang goes further up the cab.

    D91C7DF8-D285-49DC-ADC9-248D4D8D02F2.jpg

The 43” that you have would need to be cut down to just behind the middle mounting point. The 31” ends too far forward of the hab.

    Hello AT Overland owners,

I am a future AT Overland Summit(about to pull the trigger) except on a Tundra. There is more traffic on the TW forum.

Anyway, I have a couple questions for you fine folks:

    1. Have any of you upgraded your suspension? If so, what did you decide on? I’m aware the suspension are different on Tacoma and Tundras just want to get a feel.

    2. Any one have an onboard water tank?

    3. Who all uses there AT topper for weeklong trips? Any advice on this longer trips?

Any and all tips and tricks and advice is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance
    -Edsel

certainly lots of info in this thread, 146 pages.
others have set up water tanks and hot shower systems, i have not.
i have a refrigerator with solar/lithium power for indefinite number of weeks. that does take up bed box space.
augmenting suspension with compressor and airbags could be helpful. i do not have air bags. but definitely replaced stock Tacoma leaf springs, absolute must do.
suggest E rate tires, in my opinion there is no downside to a suitably strong sidewall construction.
six days is about my limit on trip length, i try to get out frequently,

the early days of this thread, and most of the pages and discussion occurred before the Summit and Atlas had been put in production. it is a thread where you can post about your experience with either your Summit or Atlas or Habitat.

    1. Upgraded rear leafs to compensate with constant increased load. Airbags mounted to frame with daystar lower cups. Hand bicycle pump and a cross over valve to take guess work out of balancing pressures.

    2. Used to have a 26gal bladder, more trouble than it’s worth. Now we run. 2x5gal spout cans and a spare 5gal buried in the back for emergencies. Good for a few days when adding Gatorade and beer to the mix.

    3. I do 14-21 days with my wife and kids (7 and 5). I’ll write a novel for this one so I’ll respond later. On my way to put the truck in winter storage.
