I like those goose gear panels. Very nice. And the chairs. How do you like them?

Doing some final preparations for the Upper Peninsula Michigan trip. If you haven't been, go to Copper Harbor and camp due east near high rock bay. Glorious. Decent little off road trails out that way.

In preparation, I fashioned a bug net from this for the open tailgate and attached it with some adhesive velcro pieces. Additionally, I bought this net and used it to cover the awning area with some slight modifications. Hoping I don't need either, but if the bugs are bad, I'll be happy.

Got the mood lighting installed on the bed side of the habitat.

And focused on making camp a little more organised. On the passenger side wall, I mounted the awning, hatchet, saw shovel and axe with some quickfist clamps to keep them out of the way and the ground mat and stakes tuck well into the bottom corner. Happy I don't need to dig anymore for these things and that they aren't in the way either.

My wife had a similar idea and bought a mosquito net for a twin size bed. Originally she planned to hang from the middle point of the hanging gear net over the bed but it didn't work as planned. We ended up hanging the ring from the center of the middle tent hoop and simply tucking the netting between the hoop and tent material. it definitely kept the bugs out, and made the sleeping area noticeably warmer (which was a good thing at the time), kept in a lot of body heat surprisingly.

Plan to upgrade this idea with some velcro and webbing material in the near future, but this will work for now!

Fixed. They don’t adjust. The fold away. Much like a folding chair. Very comfy and changed the space.

Found a great spot about 70 miles from home. Will definitely be back. 6th and 7th nights spent in the Habitat, and looking forward to the next 60 or 70!

Was about a hundred yards from this lake. Was perfect for the inflatable kayak we brought along.

Swapped my tent and added some extra tracks for the Nemo awning.

    IMG_2639.jpg

    IMG_2671.jpg

    IMG_2676.jpg

    IMG_2677.jpg

Also added a strip of trim to the back scratcher. Anyone want some? I have FEET leftover I'd be willing to sell for cheap.

The gray tent weighs significantly less than the olive tent, and I am able to fully close the top to a solid metal on metal contact with the shell. Also had to adjust my locking latch almost 1/4" to accommodate the thinner material.

Last night tossed in some D29XL AALs to give the rear some more ups.

    IMG_2693.jpg

during the breaking of a bow due to a misplaced sleep platform I also damaged the bracket that holds the forward bow pivot. Had to buy 5' of aluminum stock. Also, the bows are held together by 6" pieces of 3/4" oak dowel. Slight sanding helps them go in.

    IMG_2670.jpg

    Lessons learned:

    1. Changing a tent body. Remove all three tracks from the cantilever top, only way possible without bending shit.

    2. Buy these things (cleco pins) anytime you are thinking of doing more than one pop rivet.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0093QZ0QG/ref=oh_aui_i_sh_in_o0_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    3. Buy this pop rivet tool if you want to use for hands the next day.

    https://www.amazon.com/Astro-Pneuma...pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=riveter&psc=1

    4. When adding leafs to your OME pack, you can do it without removing the packs from the truck.

Is that outlet from the diff something you picked up from a hardware store? I ordered the factory stuff from toyota about 6 months ago, but somehow lost that outlet hose barb. Was wondering if i could run down to home depot and pick up the right threaded barb.

Yep. Just go to the hardware store and grab a male 1/8 MPT to 1/4 barb fitting.

i have had no water leaking in that area to date. There is a line of bulb seals (3) that encircles the bed rail. The sub panel is on its own breaker at the battery. It runs the fridge and a USB port at this time. It was there with the tonneau cover too.

The rails won't have a shelf on them. The water tank hooks to the floor and the frame keeps the clothing and bedding duffles in place. The rail across the midpoint on the bed is what keeps the hardigg boxes from bouncing around. I'll post a pic when I am fully packed this weekend..... if I remember.

We used to have a wooden box for the water, but it was limiting capacity and loosing corner spaces.

Oh. And got a filter for my water filling needs.
