This was the parking near the kiddos school at drop off this morning. The Tundra is awaiting it AT Summit and the Ford just picked theirs up from AT a couple weeks ago. That makes 3 habitats in town and a Summit soon. Plus two more Habitats just up the road in Silverton and I believe 2 more in the Ouray/Ridgeway area. Seems like we are getting a pretty good San Juan group. Maybe we should all do a meet up sometime next camping season.

Was that Habitat made for a full sized ford? It looks a lil small on there.

I can't recall if this was posted on this thread yet... just saw it on another one for Utah Craigslist - apparently it's in Pennsylvania though.

Looks pretty nice... lotsa good pics on the post.

And more importantly, is that a rain gutter for when the rear hatch is open? looks like it would work great, even if not the most attractive.

I really like the look of the black in the cutout. Might do that with mine.

Yes it was built by AT for his truck. Yes it did look a little short.

Yeah, I remembered that and looked it up earlier. The different angles makes it look like it fit better. Could be the 5ft vs 6ft bed too. shrugs* O well, it's just good to see more out there!!

So, I've got a question on Propex... If you mount one inside your habitat how do you plumb the propane?

Do you bring a propane tank into the truck bed and hook it up when in use?
Do you plumb a line from the Propex to the outside of the truck and attach propane tank out there?
Do you run solid copper pipe, or just use rubber hoses?

I have the Exped Megamat LW+. It is an awesome mattress. The first time you open the valves without help it will take a long time because it has been compressed. Throw in the inflation bag and it goes faster. However since this is on a truck an on board air compressor or the little Coleman 12V DC pump gets it ready very quickly ~2 min. Once you then lay on it it is so easy to tweak the fill by depressing outlet. I have had many mats and these are by far the most comfortable. Using it on concrete it feels luxurious like a real bed.
I have a habitat on order and if I want more comfort after use I will pack the exped.

How is the fit on the cab side of the hab? Considering one for my wife and I since the kids have taken over the bed side.

I've used the NOCO shore power exterior plug on a 4Runner, Tacoma, and an Off-Road trailer. It has served all well and highly recommend. You just have to drill another hole somewhere.

I hope you are not tall. We are 5-11 and 6-2 and tried Mario's Summit and found there was too little foot room. Our toes would hit the roof and where he had the maxtrax installed the bolt sticking down could easily be hit by our feet/toes. The wedge shape sacrifices sleeping space at the front. I liked the summit for simplicity but ordered the habitat.

I felt like a real dummy when the guy selling me the compressor for my airbags mentioned being able to inflate a sleeping pad with it. TOTALLY didn't even cross my mind, and here I've been looking around online for a better inflation system than what came with the Exped... D'oh! :homer:

Only downside for me was size, been looking for something really small other than the bags. Really I just need to stop being lazy, lol

Yup, that NOCO plug is exactly what I've had sitting in the garage for months now, lol.
