Funny that the Frontier is quicker with its 3.36 gears, 5spd transmission, 265/75R16 tires and 4600lb curb weight.

The only reason the 2nd Gen was brought up was because someone asked how they thought it would fare. We see in video evidence the 3rd Gen losing to the Frontier, the other video shows a 3rd Gen losing to a 2nd Gen, safe to assume the 2nd would have beat the Frontier and 3rd Gen in that race.

So why does the 1/4 mile spec show different as well as the towing gauntlet test by 45 seconds over the 2nd gen ? Same load, same hill.
Where did that oooomph go ?
Once the 3rd revs up its gone !
Off the line it doesn't have the torque feel, but that's the only part.

Go to time 8:42 on. They "had no idea" it would perform like that, just like many others here do.

Dude it is about a shorter race on dirt, everyone has already said given enough time for the 3rd Gen to get out on the road in high revs it will pass a 2nd.

Great point. I use my truck for towing and work, not dirt track racing.
Think that's what they design these for.

It's in a different video by the same people (TFL Truck) where they compare all 3 gens of Tacoma.

In the above video, where the playing field was level, the Frontier apparently clocked a 6.x second 0-60 since it beat the Motor Trend verified 7.1 second truck.

You have defiled their idol. Facts are not allowed..

It would've been cool if someone would've knew about this little drag ahead of time, snuck in and re geared the taco, along with a couple other secrets.. Then blew everybody's brain and doors off.
    Think about the thread then.

You are even further off topic, they got Off Road Trucks from the Manufacturers and used them that way.

Drag race and off road in the same sentence. Yeah uh no lol, factory built trucks aren't designed for this custom rigs only. Tacoma went smaller focusing on doing more with less for the part with the new engine.

Yes a 2014 Taco and a 2015 Tundra Pro ( still have). 3Rd gen pulls better than 2nd in my opinion. Gauntlet test confirms that. I posted pics of the pro before but they were deleted.

I love when people say that. I always say, "there's quite a few Supras that would like to have a word with you..."
