Is 5k miles the recommended first visit to the dealer? After that when is the next visit providing no problems before then?

5k or 6 months for first ¨service¨, which is just rotate tires and check fluids(most fluids anyway).
10k or 12 months for next service that will include oil change.
There are also ¨special circumstances¨ depending on driving/use. Its all outlined in the owners manual.

    This.

Regardless of those who believe in early 'break in' oil changes and things like that. If you follow the manual, your warranty is fully protected.

Bill can blow smoke. No one ever will disagree about fresh oil in a engine unless they are a cheap fuck!
