I know of course that aluminum is lighter, but how does it hold up compared to steel?

Not as strong as steel, not as easily fixable if it gets bent and needs to be repaired.

But lighter is the main attraction here.

    Nearly half (60lbs vs 120lbs).

Now granted 60 lbs by itself isn’t huge but once you start adding up skids, sliders, canopy etc. saving a few pounds here and there can add up.

That said if I like a product well enough and I think that product is superior in many ways to other options on the market, I’ll suck it up and deal with the weight.

    700lb coils here I come!

I'm running ATH bumpers (no winch), double cab 4x4, 3" OME 887 and they are too damn stiff.

I like the rear bumper! I’d be interested in a high clearance for 2011. (I live in Reno)

The TRD Pro / Bilstein 6112 shocks I just put on are supposed to be 600lb coils and with the weight of my BAMF skids are kinda sagging. Would you recommend 650lb coils then? I do plan on putting a winch in there so that’s another 80lbs.

Read somewhere here about someone running 600# coils and he really likes the ride. I went 887 because I needed the 3" up front, Im also running sliders. The 650# coils sound like a nice place to start since you are gonna add a winch. Let us know how it ends up.

I personally went straight to 700 lb coils. Now I haven't mobbed off road yet, I've got a trip in two weeks planned, so my view may be shit and I never rode with 600 lb coils, previously had OME 885's, but the ride is so much better with the 700's, but I also have Kings now so fuck, maybe don't listen to anything I am saying. I guess what I am trying to say is with bumper (no winch yet) and 700 lb coils it rides great thus far, plus my preload is so minimal and I still have good height and my CV's still look great.

Thanks! High clearance version probably won't happen until next year...I do the fab work part time and at this point I'm just keeping up with the products that I already have available. Local pickup is more than welcome

Thanks for all the compliments guys. Morgan makes a very aesthetically pleasing bumper and was helpful with all the questions I had. I’ll get some more pics up soon, With some details on what I did to make the rezi bracket work with the frame tie in. @Murphinator also asked about some light output info so I made some YouTube vids last night (G rated) that I’ll post up as well when I get to a computer.
