The hardest part about driving around ATL during the storms was dodging all the ditched cars in my way! 4wd worked great, I filled up a cooler with water and kept it in the bed (via bed extender) over the wheels to get additional traction - highly recommended. My only complaint is that the stock wheels SUCK, but I'm planning on some upgrades in that department.

Unfortunately I had a conference in ATL this week and had to fly back home to Denver Wednesday. Can't believe how a little snow and ice can completely shutdown a city for days. Luckly I was commuting by train in ATL and could still get to the airport, even though a 40min train ride turned into 2hrs. I was one of the few lucky ones that didn't have their flight cancelled. It just left 5hrs late.

Denver woke up this morning to worse weather than what hit ATL. I'm sure nobody outside of Colorado heard about it, because it wasn't a big deal here.

A little of this and a little of that.
My Tacoma got me to work all week. There's only a dozen days a year that I "need" a 4WD truck.
Glad I had one this week.

Worse weather maybe, but certainly not worse for residents. Atlanta is not prepared for this, and you can't expect them to be. A southern city can't be expected to spend millions of taxpayer dollars on snow clearing and salting equipment. Not feasible, nor logical.

I have a 2013 TRD 4x4 sport. This was the first snow fall I got to use my truck in as well. I have many stories of how it did so well. I climbed hills in 4x4 and stock dunflops without to many issues. And as far as all the northerners that are hating on ATL right now. I am from the north. I know how to drive in snow. But nobody understands that Ice is Ice. It cannot be plowed, and we dont have the ability or the need to clear back roads as this only happens once a year or 2.

Auto LSD did me no good on the ice. I saw several police cars with cable chains driving around freely, so after my 6.5 hour commute I ordered two sets. My truck is only 2wd, but the front tires were not getting much traction while turning or stopping (or trying to remain stopped). On ice, your vehicle tends to go where gravity dictates.

Snow is no big deal. Ice is the problem.
