Makes sense to me if you don't plan on beating the skids up.

There are a lot of pros to keeping a truck light.

Here we go again with the over 10k post jerks that obviously have nothing to do but sit home and add there useless crap to this forum. For the future anybody that has over 10K post I really do not care what you have to say so keep it to your self.

I really don't think Brutal was trying to be a jerk. I've seen him be a jerk... and that was down right nice in comparison. :D

Your best bet would be to PM Kevin (Fire931) and ask about a thinner skid.

And for those of you keeping score...

    BUMP

Who said I was not going to go offroading? I said rock crawling. There is a big difference. One you need protection from rocks flying off the tires at high speed on a dirt roads or trees or what ever. The other you go out and have fun draging the frame on some rocks. When I had a jeep, Yes I would go drag it on the rocks. I do not intend on draging the taco on the rocks but I do alot of offroading in the deserts. So with that being said 1/8" should suffice. Just because some of you can not think outside of the box. You should not go jumping on someones idea as a bad idea until you understand the specifics. Sounds like I need to change it to anyone with over 3K post needs to jump over to the pirate4x4 board.

Thanks for keeping this alive guys! Hoping to see a few more jump on in the end here.

Utard - We could make up some light duty skids for you no problem however they wouldn't qualify for the group buy since they would be a one off set. I'll have to check on pricing though and let you know.

I can attest to the value of a set of skids- I have an IFS skid (not ATO) that took a beating at URE a couple weeks ago, and handled it fine.

I do not, however, have trans and t-case skids- and after running the same lines as jandrews, I no longer have an exhaust cross-over pipe...

If you're on the fence about getting a set of skids, get off the fence and get 'em- your exhaust will thank you!
