I have a 2010 4x4 4-door TRD Tacoma. This model has a mirror that is attached to a rear camera mounted on the handle of the tailgate. The screen in the mirror is rather small and there is no recording / dashcam. I would like to purchase a mirror dash cam combination, similar to this TOGUARD 2.5K Mirror Dash Cam, which can display the rear camera full screen as well as record video in case of an accident. It would attach over my existing mirror.

Is there a way to pull power from the existing mirror wiring harness as well as the feed from the existing rear camera? That would save me installing a new camera as well as running wires.

If there is no existing adapter / harness available is this something I could do by splicing into the existing wires or is this not recommended?

    Thanks in advance!

By the way: I did find some adapters that allow you to attach a usb connection for power that sit between the mirror and the wire connection. I did not see one that is 14pin which is what I believe I have or one that also allows for the feed from the camera.

Quick Google search yielded this result :

    https://www.dongartechnologies.com/product/12pin/

There are manufacturers that make these for all kinds of makes and models, so if this isn't the exact one you need, there is one out there.

Edit: sorry op I didn't see you have a 14 pin connector. I'll keep looking. FWIW in my truck I ran a 12v+ line from my aux fuse panel to the mirror for my dash cam as my mirror is super dumb.
