Attaching parking brake cable to Deaver leaf springs

    So Deavers don’t come with the bracket to attach the parking brake bracket to the leaf spring. Do most people just cut this off of the cable and go without the bracket?

    With my Dobinsons, the bracket is still attached to my cable, its just not bolted to the leaf's anymore. Just dangles there. My mechanic suggested some kind of spring clip to somewhat retain it, but I haven't gotten around to it and it doesn't seem to matter. Been running like that for a few years now.

    Leaving it dangle makes a fun noise to diagnose what is going on (if you're the type to pay attention to your vehicle noises). Mine sounded like coins in a metal can being shaken around. I zip tied it to the front mount where the parking brake cable comes off the frame:
