"Beware of dog" signs are a bad idea. You're admitting that you have a vicious animal capable of biting/injuring and/or killing. Especially in a case like this, it would be an instant payday.

Keep a gun in your truck that may help.

I know how you feel...ive been attacked by a dog and was real lucky...Still haunts me to this day. But I still love dogs... Trouble dogs like that need to be euthanized if the owner cant keep them in check. My advice to you would be to carry a squirt bottle with ammonia.

This is the exact fucking reason I conceal carry.

I was attacked about a year and a half ago. The dick owner had his rottweiler out in his yard, free to roam. I was walking by the house on the way to starbucks, and the dog ran up to attack. I froze (maybe i thought dogs were like dinosaurs, and couldnt see me if i stayed still). He lunged, knocked me down, and started biting.

He tore through my pants, and had my right calf in his jaws. I pulled my 220 carry from my pancake on my lower back, and put 3 rounds of hydroshocks into the dog. I nailed the fucker in the chest, left ball joint of the front right leg, and just under his left eye. 3 rounds of 45acp JHP (borderline frangible) turned the dog into a fucked up pile of meat on the sidewalk.

Cops were called, Owner was arrested, I went to the hospital, and the sherrifs office cleared me and closed the case. I walked away with no debt, no offenses, and medical treatment for puncture wounds.
