Nah, its only with the daytime running lights being the turn signals, newer models only unless you do the mod to have them on but you dont have it so dont worry:)

My 09' DTRL melted both plastic sheilds at about 27,000 miles. Dealer replaced them but one thing I noticed about the NEW headlights, when I opened them up during the projecter mod, the lense is now made of GLASS!
Those of you who had them replaced by your local dealer recenlty, go out and shine a flashlight in there. You might have the glass ones too...

I have a 2010 with oem from day one DTRL. The DTRL lens has not changed or melted yet, but the outer clear lens (oem black tinted) on both sides is showing small cracks. Not from impact, but rather typical plastic crazing cracks.

Anyone else had concerns yet with the outermost lens?

Hey guys.. Just purchased a 2011 with the dtrl and am interested in disabling this feature before damage is done to the lens. Has anyone heard how to 'turn it off' easily?? I had a friend with a 2009 that had extreme discolorization and warping in the turn signal lens.. any info would be great! I have my first oil change with the dealer Thursday and will do some inquiring and let ya'll know..

Sorry guys, I'm new to the TW forum and needing to catch up a bit here. I have 2009 Dbl Cab w/ 55k miles with the DRL/Turn Signal Bulb issue. My driver's side bulb has now cracked the small lens all the way through and its trapped in there in two pcs. (see pic w/ bulb removed).

Questions: Is there a solution for this crap? Can you replace just the lens inside the headlight assembly? What are people doing if warranty isn't an option?

    Thanks Much.

    thanks Dobri-
Sorry to keep grinding the details. I can do the LED bulb swap with no problem, but is there a way to replace the already cracked lens(es) inside the headlight assembly? Thanks Much.

How do you prevent the LED's from blinking fast? I put in two replacement LED's on my DRL. Blinks fast. Is this a hazard to the electronics in the long run if I decide to eat the 15 bucks for the lights and continue using them?

mine are doing that as well. I'm lazy to fix it but I'm sure its just putting 2 more in the rear that are LED as well.

That is because of the bulb outage sensor circuit: Here is the answer you seek:
