With a 3" lift in the rear you can get away without an extended rear brake line because the OEM hose is rubber and will stretch. However, if you're going to be doing some wheelin' I'd recommend getting the extended brake line. If you have the expo leafs, those will sit higher at 4" over stock height so I'd definitely recommend getting the extended brake line. FYI: The expo leaf pack has the same amount of leafs as the standard except the expo leafs are thicker.

You can also get the extended brake lines from All Pro. I have to pick up my leafs from a friend who lives in Hemet. He picked them up for me in case I couldn't pick them up during the week. Well I had to call in sick today so I might go down to his house today, which is just around the corner from AP.

Frank - If you or anyone else would like me to pick them up for you and bring them to my house in Fontana, I'd be more than happy to stop by AP for you. You would just need to call AP and speak to someone letting them know I'll be picking them up for you.

Send me a PM if you're interested. I have to do a few things this morning but I'll let you know later if I'm going to be able to go to AP today.

You can get away with no extended brake line on the 3" leafs if your a second gen. I can show you how. I've wheeled mine in just about every terrain and not one problem.

How much lift do the expo leafs give? If moe than 3" I would just get the brake line.

yeah, i'm kind of sketched out and worried that my truck is going to break again on me while i'm going fast in the dirt. those spindles will get rid of the weak lower ball joint and stock spindle. prob is i'll have to swap in different deavers out back, otherwise my truck will be way too bro

keep saving your pennies. it took me forever to save for LT

Just finished my install today here are my measurements with the allpro expos 3" w/ 10" 5150's and extended brake line before and after.

allpro 3" w/ 10" 5150's bottom center tire to bottom of fender 41.5"
    DSC08058_6a341cec26cdb1d100feaae12a2fb3e6d80ecdeb.jpg

Stock leaf springs w/ stock TRD shocks ive had since i bought this truk bak in 04'. 36.5"
    3-1_16f9c69d135666c5195a634cc533ba732f36806a.jpg

So there u have it i hope it settles bc its a little raked so the allpro 3" expos with the 10" 5150's gave me 5" of lift in the rear. like my chalk block a piece of wood lolz..it worked though.

Any advice for those of us that still need to install them? Did you use new u-bolts or the original u-bolts?

heres a little quick run down of the install.

i used the same u-bolts prob replace them later down the road. the hard part for me was swapping out the brakes line's it was a pain bc there wasnt much room for the top line nut and then removing the clip that holds the top portion of the brake line in place i used a flat tip screwdriver and just tried to find any leverage around that area to pry the clip off. the top line nut uses a 10mm line wrench the bottom i just used a crescent wrench bc i couldnt find a wrench to fit.

once the brake line was off installing the new brake line from all pro i just slowly hand tight the bottom end of the brake line first then tighten it snugged with a crescent wrench. For the top a 17mm wrench to hold it in place while using the 10mm line wrench to put the line nut back in. brake line done. then bled it.

For the shocks and the leaf springs. jack stands under the frame and dropped the rear axles slowly using two jack's (of course w/ the tires removed)

removed the shocks using 17mm wrench then ratchet to speed up the process for removal. then the removal of the u-bolts 19mm socket with breaker bar then swtiched to ratchet to speed up the process. for the leaf bolts and nut it too uses a 19mm socket and wrench. i had to use a hammer to beat out the bolt. it when flying. once that was all done with the help of a helping hand somehow just jimmied in the new leaf spring had to play with it for a while to line up the holes and get it in there then just bolted everything back up and repeat this step for the other side.

Good luck with ur install Johnnie if u got n e questions let me know i'll try to help as much as i can. this was my first time installing the rear leafs good learning experience.

Thanks. How long did it take you? Luckily I already have an extended brake line installed.
