I have a utility ATV that I want to carry in the bed of my Tacoma 2007 with access cab, I need something to stop it from going thru the window. Something like a roll bar but not that high? Any ideas?

Or you could put a block of wood to keep it from going forward.

I could get away with a roll bar shape that only went as high as to the top of the bed and screwed into the 2 front bed bolts. Here is the picture of the quad, notice the bumper and how far it is beyond the front wheels.DSCN2509.jpg

Trailtaco, is that a custom rack? Nicest one I've seen...

Have you already done a test fit? Often the front tires will hit the front of the bed before anything else hits. Either that or just stick a 2x4 or something in the front of the bed to chock the tires from going too far forward

sorry man, I just saw that. That looks to me like that bumper would hit the bed first? So it wouldn't be a problem, but that is just me eyeballing it...

I just wanted some extra protection along with the tie downs. I might build a bar that will fit in the rail system.

Complete OME suspension with Dakar leaf pack. Clarion touch screen Sport hood Tri fold Tonneau cover
I use a junk of 12x12 that goes in the front of the bed that the front tires hit before the push bar hits the front of the bed. Eventually I plan on making a tool box roughly the same size to house my recovery gear and so that I can leave it on the truck with my tonneau cover. Are you guys loading your bikes using the tailgate?

I always used wood blocks like a 6x6 or 8x8.
Your tires run up to it and stop. If you do not want the weight then you can make a box out of wood like 2x6 and use 4 of them or 2 each 2x6 and 2 each 2x8. Making a wood box or tube will cut your weigh 75%.

Be careful ... I've busted out my back glass twice with an atv. First time I hit a bump real hard and the atv bounced . It had clearance but stil cracked the glass. Next deer season the deer on the atv hit the window . It's leg went throught the hole In my new headache rack..... So design accordingly. Both times the bed was wet and the atv was muddy

tools would be a drill, drill bits, wrenches, and a helper.

parts would be, bolts (whatever size you want), washers (make sure they are big enough to spread the force around so you don't rip a hole in the bed), and nuts.

shouldn't be difficult, i think there's a writeup somewhere, but basically you drill a hole just big enough for your bolt to go through, put the tie down on top (closest to the head of the bolt), then but a big washer, then put the blot through, and add 1 or 2 big washers to the bottom and add a nut. loctite the nut as necessary.
