I feel like you're getting flamed for some misunderstanding. However, I would recommend a tractor tire over a UTV tire, for a taco. If you find UTV in a 1200lb rating maybe. Try to keep at least 50% over your weight (i.e. truck=4000lbs and tires=6000lbs)

I expected the shit storm for sure. Probably just going to try it anyways but figured the discussion about it would be a good one.

For sure! I love cheap tires to off road on! I'm just worried that if you ran them on a trail and got to 3 wheeling or 2 wheeling you would pop them.

Add you, a passenger, recovery gear, winch, food, cooler, tools, spare tire, full tank of gas, etc, etc and you're closer to 3600 lbs....probably more. And anyways, even at 3100 you are right at the load rating. I wouldn't bother with the ATV tires, get some tires meant for heavier equipment and you won't have any problems.

It's your money, you did say any input appreciated. It just doesn't seem like the best idea to put ATV tires on a Taco. But if you do it, make sure to post pics and let us know how it turns out.

This. Being right at the load rating doesn't give you much wiggle room. Could easily see a tire being blown with the weight of a loaded truck on 2 or 3 of the wheels.

Valid point about lifting wheels having 2 in the air is doubling the load of the remaining on the ground. The load rating that they show is at 7psi a reasonable pressure for a quad. They have a max psi of 35 so if set to 20 or 25 would they be able to take more load without risk?

I don't think that's how it works. If 10psi=500 then the ratio for 35psi=1750ish. Even if that's how it worked, 20psi is on the high side for wheeling. I prefer a little bulge at the bottom and that's around 10psi for a RC on 35s. My 44 boggers have 1-2psi on the mud truck and they barely buldge until on an obstacle.

Yeah, I agree. I think it might increase the load capacity slightly, but still not enough for me to be comfortable running them. Don't get me wrong, I think it's an awesome idea, but IMO you need a bit stiffer of a tire.

I agree its a great idea, but the rubber just isn't there. I like the out of the box thinking, especially when one stick or rock can trash a $400 tire the first time out.

Sent a couple emais to super atv. They say that the aren't exactly designed for that kind of weight but should be fine with more than 7psi in them.

Read a bunch of sxs forums one lots of guys are running 3-5psi and are complaining they are way to stiff.

Someone is going to have to be a guinne pig lol

I second the tractor tire idea.

Sooo your both willing to sponsor the experiment? Lol jk

I am waiting a bit before the purchase, snowmobile season just started ($$$), and my current tires are still ok.

Did you ever end up doing this? I'm interested because of the rotational weight savings and I'm trying to run a light truck. This guy put Tensor DSR37 tires that measure 37x10x15 (and the 33's weight 39lbs): https://www.race-dezert.com/home/matt-heltons-super-yota-race-truck-sy4-243928.html. I'm not going for a prerunner, but just saying. 1600 lbs. load rating for the 37s. Here is Tensor's air pressure guide: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0667/0741/files/tensor-air-chart-5-19.pdf?v=1621456205
