So, almost 5 years later… Wondering if anyone else has done this or if OP ended up going with that dedicated sub box?

So far…. Added fog lights swapped halogens to led’s, interior lights to led’s, bed lights added, led/strobe brake lights, trying to figure out the right leds for turn signals.
I’ve put 6x9 kicker cs series up front, sounds pretty good w factory radio, adding kicker 6 1/2 como dos for the back. Going to use a lci7 by audio controller to take signal from up front and to the amp. Pioneer 4 channel amp 100 watt rms per channel. Last but not least doing an 8” kicker self powered sub ran off od the virtual sub output from the lci7.

Different idea. 5 years old or not…can’t let a thread about subs go by without saying the JL Audio TW3 will exceed even the most stringent expectation for a “behind the seat” sub.

    1. There's no distortion from putting the sub behind the rear seat, especially since the plastic portion of the rear seat will likely need removing as well.

    2. "Free air" subs are a great idea if you love to be underwhelmed, otherwise avoid them. Absolutely avoid the idea of trying to make a regular sub work in an unsealed door.

    A. There's no such thing as "quasi-sealed". It's either sealed properly or ported properly.
    B. We already have free air, infinite baffle, ported, sealed, etc...for a reason. Sorta kinda sealed isn't a thing because, well, science.
