Hey everyone, I've got a 2017 TRD PRO and was bummed it didn't come with a good sound system. I'm no audiophile but the speakers were definitely lacking.

I brought the truck to a guy and he ended up installing a HERTZ system with an amp and new speakers all around.

Unfortunately, I've brought it back to him 4 times. And on the 4th time he had an expert come in who works on exotics.

I don't know if the guy installed it correctly or what.. but the sound is just awful. When using the fade function on the head unit to isolate speakers, I put it in the driver's front and nothing is coming out of the speakers at all. The driver twitter is always crackling and sending out static-y feedback.

I'm sick of bringing it back to the guy and he charged me $1200 for the install and kit.. Can someone please help me out?

Is it possible the switches and controls are wrong on the back of the sub? I swear I tried every combination and everything sounds like garbage or just doesn't sound at all!

    Help?

    It's a HERTZ HCP 4 Channel amp. I don't have any subs

I believe to hook up an aftermarket amp to a Stock Head Unit the amp would have to have speaker level inputs and I am not sure it does. Hence the ability not to fade

I wish I knew.. all I know is that the cords from the head unit are plugged into the amp where it says HI IN (front and rear)

It’s going to be hard to troubleshot over the web. That system should rock, had Hertz in my last truck, good quaility stuff.

Unfortunately the guy before me did a similar hack.....I ripped it all out and required all the speakers to a new head unit.

These are the best I could get.. the only pictures I could get of wiring were the connections of the amp

From the pictures it looks like the shop does good work. It sounding like shit doesn't fit the install pics.

Does your truck have the JBl system in it?
