Just purchased 2 8" pioneer subwoofers in a custom box made to fit behind the back seat of my double cab. Also came with an 800w Pioneer amp. I have an alpine head unit already and infinity speakers. To get the sub and amp installed I need to buy a "wiring kit". audio express quoted me $90 for the kit and $70 for the install. Is is possible to find a wiring kit somewhere else for cheaper than that? Ex: Ultimate Electronics, Fry's Electronics, Best Buy?
EDIT: got everything installed. heres a link to the set up http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/au...double-cab-sub-amp-speakers-hu-installed.html

Yes. Check Ebay, Pheonix Gold, ect. You should be able to get free shipping as well.

What are you powering your door speakers off? your headunit? I built my own wiring kit, which is much cheaper.

    Here's what you'll need:

    -A set of RCA cables
-However many feet you need to get from your battery to the amp of either 4 or 6 guage wire, which you can get at Home Depot or Lowe's.
-Stock speaker wire to go from the amp to the subs.
-10 ga. wire for your remote line to the headunit, to make the amp go on and off when you turn your truck off.
-8 ga. wire for your ground
    - two terminal connector deals, with the circle, one for your battery and one for the ground for the bolt to go through.

Really, you get what you pay for when it comes to wiring. The prices are pretty static where they are at. Some of the cheaper brands just have larger jackets to increase the gauge size of the "wire". You may not need anything huge, and if you're not looking for the best performance you can get you may look in CCA wiring.

I personally, am a huge fan of knukonceptz. Give them a search on google and it should be the first link that pops up. Relatively cheap prices, all things considered, and their wiring is top notch. You can piece together individual items, or buy a presetup kit at a bit of a discounted price. I believe they have a CCA kit in 4 or 8 gauge for somewhere in the neighborhood of 30$.

Yeah im not looking to install everything myself. Audio Express wants 90 bucks for the wiring kit which doesn't settle with me so i thought i'd buy a kit elsewhere then bring it to them to have them install it.

There's one at walmart for $25. It's good stuff, and what I'm using. It won't win competitions but for what I use it for it's perfect!

Dude honestly, I wouldn't go to Audio express. They rip people off.
I bought my GF's stereo there for $325 and the total was like $376 because of installation and all these extra cables(BMW). Then they said something was wrong with the previous stereo and they could take it out blah blah blah, and I end up doing it myself. :(

PSH please...I just had to get a third job because I'm not making enough with the first two. Wish I was rich.

Me and my dad did my setup (he used to build custom boxes and installs)

Pretty much what I did too. Got some decent quality cables from Walmart too so that helped. Whole system in the end cost me little bit less than $400. Still need to cover the box though.

Post pics after it's all said and done.
