    Hey All,
I'm loving my new Tacoma and is a big difference from my 2014 Rav 4. I have the mid grade audio system in the Tacoma and had the premium JBL system in my Rav. I listened to most of my music through streaming services like Apple Music or Spotify. The sound quality was just so bad and couldn't figure out why? I did some research and learned that most streaming services, as well as downloading music onto your phone from iTunes or wherever you get a poorer quality version.
Enter Tidal streaming service. They offer high fidelity songs that will make you think differently of your stock radio system. Play a song on Spotify then play the same song on Tidal and you will be blown away by the audio quality difference. I'm just posting this as a solution for many that hate their systems and haven't had a chance to upgrade the speakers, amp, etc.

Pandora > Settings > Advanced > Higher Quality Audio > "ON"

iPhone Settings > Music > Cellular Data > High Quality Streaming > "ON"

It's simple. Almost all music streaming apps have high quality audio settings.

Not all services are created equal...I have no vested interest in any of these. Apple has 256 kbps
    Spotify has 320 kbps
Tidal can stream up to 1411 kbps on their lossless setting. Big difference in audio quality on the stock systems is all I'm saying

Yeah definitely not the cheapest option for streaming music. I was ready to drop a good amount of money for a better sound system but hearing the difference of a good audio service let's me delay that

Don't forget your data plan needs to handle the bump in bandwidth.

I mostly listen to podcasts, so no horses in this race.

Tidal will be lucky to be around for another year. Keeping my fingers cross they file for Chapter 12.

I listen to podcasts most of the time as well. Do you find yourself having to turn your audio up quite a bit (like level 35-40) to hear the voices clearly?

If theyre streaming through your phone, make sure your phone volume is all the way up. This applies for USB/BT

I feel like i have a setting off somewhere on my phone. I always turn my iphone almost to the max, but have to turn master volume on on truck up to 35 or 37 to clearly hear podcasts. Only podcasts though, music is heard loud and clear around the 18-25 range. Could just be I have shitty hearing....

When I first connected it, it was crap, but maxed the volume on the iPhone and now it's fine.

320kbps is good enough for me. And spotify lets me keep all the music downloaded on my phone for the trails and to cut down on data. Tacoma standard audio unit isn't the best, but imo it's decent enough. It's decent enough that I've had a hard time so far bringing my self to upgrade the sound system because of how labor intensive it will be. I do miss a good setup though.

Thats only an issue if u use a aux chord. Why wouldnt u use max volume over lossless data transfer(bluetooth, usb)?

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
put the fader all the way to the front and it sounds much better.

Old habits die hard I guess, still feel maxing out source isn't the best.
