I've noticed a bizarre issue that is unlike any of the other bluetooth issues I've seen in the 2 years of owning a 3rd gen taco. I'm not sure what triggered this behavior. randomly over the past 2 weeks, when I turn the volume knob on the head unit, the audio streaming via bluetooth skips. I have a video that i recorded of it that i can't upload right now.

My head unit is the entune premium one that comes in the trds with the premium and tech package. my phone is a google pixel xl. I don't think this is a phone issue because turning the volume knob on the head unit shouldn't be sending any kind of command to the phone; that is, the volume is relative to the head-unit and you can independently change the volume on the phone via the controls on the phone.

anyone else had this issue? i'm due for my 6 month/5000m service on this taco, so i'm going to ask the dealership about it.

They will tell you try it with a different phone. Get another phone and try it. If you can demonstrate that it happens on two different devices ( Apple and Android) it's the head unit.

Also did you try to disconnect and reconnect the phone?

Yep I've gone through all the troubleshooting steps that I've used for every Bluetooth issue I've had. I don't have a different model phone to test with. My wife has the same thing as me. It still stands to reason though that the head unit shouldn't be sending any commands to the phone for a volume change. The 2 volume controls are independent of each other.

Agreed but you will dealing with a service writer with limited knowledge. They will be quick to blame the phone. Another phone will eliminate that train of thought.

Mine does something similar...sometimes. While a song is playing and I adjust the volume either up or down, the song will restart. Very annoying.

One thing I tried that seems to be working for now is to go into device info>connect audio player from>device.

Not sure if it's a sure fix but everything is working for now. Even auto auto connects and starts playing after startup.

    Same deck and phone btw
