    Mine is H-key, so has one splice, and I am pretty slow at installs. I’m gonna budget myself a few hours for it, just in case.

    This review is for h-key (keyed ignition) 3rd gen.

    I finally installed my remote start after not having had time for a few weeks. It’s pretty much same hardware as the 12volt solutions (although Jeremie released his kit first), and I used their install video as well as Jeremie’s guidance as reference.

    Only one wire needed to be cut, and the two ends connected to wires from a harness. Everything other than that was plug&play harnesses.

    I’m pretty slow at such stuff, so it took me two hours. Someone else could probably do it in 30 minutes. Even I would do it in 30-45 minutes if I were to do it again.

    Turns on with 3 clicks of lock button. Turns off with another 3 clicks of lock button. The remote stays active when truck is remote started, so you can unlock door with the remote. When you open door, the truck turns off. All pretty standard.


    I waited nearly 2 years for a DIY remote start for h-key, so thanks @jmeitz for releasing one when no other kits were available.

    Finally got a chance to install. Took literally 15 minutes. Works like a charm. Why couldn't Toyota do this? Now I can start my truck WITHOUT LEAVING IT UNLOCKED! What an amazing concept! Again, thanks for making this so easy.
