    For those of you that are skeptical on this it really works and is plug and play. I bought one a few weeks ago from jmeitz and it's the cat's meow! Easy step by step directions are included and the connections that aren't needed are pre taped off for you. No OEM wires are cut or spliced into, so your warranty stays in place! Simply unplug the factory connections and plug in the Fortin and follow the instructions to program it to your vehicle. No dealer scan tools required to program. No PHD or Engineering degree required either. It took more time to remove the dash pieces than to install the system itself.

    You can easily remove the system if you sell your truck and install it in the new one. This set up is for the push button to start only set up. If your truck requires a key to be inserted into the ignition switch to start it this WILL NOT work for you! For those of you that lease like me. It can be taken out and your truck goes back to the OEM state and no one is the wiser. As previously mentioned, no wires are cut or spliced into. You're installing the Fortin system between the ECU and the push to start button. Remote stays the same no additional remote hanging off your key ring like some of the others have.

    I'm feeling really dumb...I've installed remote starters from scratch before, and I used to be ASE certified in electronics, but damned if I can find the first black connector. I took off the lower dash, but the video looks like the lower steering column cover is also off and the wire is back there somewhere. But, the column cover won't come off without removing the steering wheel first, and I know that wasn't done.

    I have the keyed ignition version. I followed the youtube video posted on 12 volt solution’s website for their keyed ignition remote start, which is almost identical.

    Turn the steering wheel, 2 screws. Once removed pull the lower plastic off.

    Anyone got this kit and purchased a RF separately that they use in the US? Reliable? I really want this to check the status of the door locks. I always forget if i locked my truck or not and would be great not to have to go back and check.

    I am not aware of any that I have sold that use the rf. You can set your setting on your truck to auto lock I believe.

    Auto lock only works if you unlock the truck in error and dont open any doors, then it will relock after a set amount time.

    They make a partial plug and play. You have to tap 2 wires and cut one. Those kits are 285 shipped. Different module “brain”
