I figured there would be a sticky for audio upgrade info, but not seeing anything. Is there a thread existing on upgrading audio someone can point me to?

there's a ton of info and active threads around here. you just need to make your searches a little more specific. here's a couple..

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/anyone-upgrading-their-2016-tacomas-speakers.400827/

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/upgrading-stereo.438866/

im doing similar to the second one there soon. i have the hardware mostly ready, just need to arrange the install and i never have the time. anyway, Focal K2P's and Infiniti 6x9's on JL HD6004 and a 13TW5 on a 500/1 with Dynamat all over. and a 5F Alumapro cap. head unit probably never but maybe another time is worth considering. hopefully getting to it by the end of the summer. gotta get these control arms in first!

    Good question.

I would I have the following equipment: JL HD6004, JL jx500x1, JL dual microsub, alpine power pack, Focal krx 165 2. I would love to reuse some of this equipment that I pulled out of my previous vehicle since its kind of pricey, just not too sure since the head unit seems like it really integrates well with the truck. I also had an $800 pxa h800 alpine DSP that I hated because I felt like it over complicated everything. I just want a good solid upgrade that integrates well and if I can reuse some of my old stuff even better!!

Nothing prevents you from re-using the gear you have, including the H800, with the factory radio.
You have everything you need for a killer setup.

You can run the factory radio to the H800.

You don't need the alpine power pack.

If i was you, I would keep the H800, as it is not complicated, you just need to understand it and use it to its potential. It is an awesome processor and will make a night or day difference in the sound of your vehicle.

What do you need help with exactly? Getting things installed or what direction to go?
