Similar to what I did. I have about 120sqf of sound deadening too. It will be a lot better once you finish the build. Sounds great!

Post some pics of your work on sound deadening if you have any. I will definitely do the doors and most likely the back of the cab but other than that I cant see me ripping out all the carpet and headliner.

you may not want to bother with the headliner. though it will cut down overall noise, you can do nothing* about the glass. far more noise from that in my experience.

*you could go big bucks and get armored glass.....

Armoured glass now that would be bullet proof as well? I will definitely do the doors and go from there. I was reading there's a special foam I can put right behind the driver in the door. Sound guy is coming today and we are gunna position the mids on the dash and see how we look for space and what not. I'll continue to get the trim along the side of the truck peeled back and wrapped up safely / remove the deck and (cross fingers) pick up some quality speaker wire and run some;) update later tonight

I agree on the headliner. It does help but I am not sure that it was worth it. The glass and the aerodynamics of the door frame really increase interior noise. The doors absolutely helped and the back behind the bins. Floor was helpful too.

Great news. Speaker locations are going to work out. Mids on factory tweeter location (dash) got drawings of the layout and how the speaker wires will be ran /power&grounds/fuses and all the good stuff. Looking like those shelves in the glove box will be holding the 2 cross overs nicely from the 3 way kit. Bit one would fit in there too which would look sweet but the cables I'm going with $$$ will be a long run of rcas so well keep it close to the amps. Here's some pics guys. Rough drawings lol but gives you an idea for who ever doesn't know how it's ran. Over all good day even got a nice bottle of white wine given to me to enjoy!

Crossovers in the glovebox? You'll probably regret that. For an install of this scope, it should be easy enough to hide them out of the way so that you can use your full glove box and not subject them to whatever you toss in the box as well as repeated opening and closing.

To echo earlier sentiments though, why use a DSP if you're using passives? One of the bigger benefits of using a DSP is active crossovers. Another is time alignment - and you won't get to use that on your front stage either. Pretty much all you'll get out of it is a fancy EQ. I'm also going to stick my foot in it here and write that I'd probably choose a Helix DSP to the Audison, but either should work nicely.

My advice - if you really want an SQ build, ditch the passives (and actually use all the DSP's functions), and amp every channel (with too much power - think headroom). I think most of this has been said before, but needed saying again.

Thanks for sharing OP & subbed up for the rest!

I don't understand why majority of you guys are being so negative and acting like you all know what you're talking about. Leave the guy alone and let him do it how he wants. I'm sure it will sound amazing. I understand most of you are penny pinchers and won't fork up for a "name" brand system. At the end of the day it's his build and not yours. I understand you guys are trying to make suggestions but I disagree with the cockyness that comes with it.

You made a fake nOOb account to say this?

Here's how it works. You post some stuff on the internet. People discuss that stuff. What I see here is a bunch of folks trying to steer OP in the right direction.

Actually I picked up a 2015 Tacoma and am interested in a nice sound system. I understand what you're saying but it comes across to me that some of the guys on here are trying to take it over as their own build.

I guess I just assume that when people make posts like this, they're open to advice and probably even expect that someone will give some feedback outside the likes of 'way to go buddy!'

I know I appreciate all the feedback I get when posting such things.

I completely agree with you. Perhaps some people could direct it a little more friendly. Anyways Nice setup to the OP. Looking forward to the end result.

Lol guys I appreciate everyone's opinion and doesn't mean I'll be changing the way it's being done but sometimes others have better suggestions so this is a great way of being informed. This isn't my playing field and any help or suggestions are WELCOME.
Home Depot has no BIRCH and it's not looking like lowes either. (Rob I didn't make a fake account lol )

Pisser on the Birch. The HD stores here stock it, but the local lumberyards might be the only source in some markets. Might get better stuff too. Is it sub time? :cookiemonster:

@zackdippolito Man im not trying to come off wrong here but @rob feature is correct. You are losing the ability to have active crossovers when you are using it in conjunction with the passive. I mean you could set the crossovers for the low end on your door speakers but that is it.

i am taking it for granted that you have done your research on passive and active crossovers, and that you know why Rob and I keep chiming in here. You are paying a lot of money for that bit 1, which is an AWESOME DSP, but you are not using it to it full potential in this build set up.

The build should be awesome either way though!

I got morning wood;) only had to go to 4 stores before finally hitting up a lumber yard in Toronto. Forced to buy an entire sheet those bastards.

Got templates started for the 6's in the doors front and back so I traced the oem housing around the speaker and cut them out sanded them down nicely. 10 espressos later I had them all cut and what not( ready to sound proof and glue together sandwiched)just waiting on ordered materials to arrive:)
