sub in the truck?? yours didn't come with one?

My dads JBL system sounds pretty good really..has a sub. Could use some better clarity..kinda muddy and muffled..but not bad..

Yea, I'll take a picture tonight. No JBL for me, I didnt care since I knew id be doing something better.... I got a Hybrid audio imagine 10" and had Marv build me a spec matching sealed box for it to fit behind the rear seat. I'm powering it with a rockford P300 mono amp and its breaking in nicely so far. My head unit alows me to set any filters and 6, 12 or 18db octave slopes on my high and low pass, its awesome! Also I have a 32 gig SD card in the deck so I never have to use CD's! I'll update the build thread soon with the audio setup...

Edit: Here's a quick and dirty shot.

    ahhh gotcha. Nice man!

Mine has a HPF for the F and R speakers and a LP filter for the sub. Selectable at 50, 63, 100, 125hz i think. Sub gain goes form +6 to like -30. I like using amps though for HPf and LPF. Or both even haha

Yea I really hope to go active someday. The deck I have allows me to run 3 way active, highs, mids and lows all crossed over at the headunit and fed to an external amp :D butttt that is a big jump...

Do you remember what page of your build your audio stuff is on?

Anyone know what the Alpine signal proccessor thing was called? I want one but I think they have been discontinued, any recomendations on another brand for around the same price range? I think JL audio makes one but it's crazy expensive and I like Alpine gear. I want tunes in my Tacoma! Tired of this stock radio with no punch or depth!

    The H701?

What type of processing are you trying to achieve?

Nice clean sound, well balanced, with more depth. The Alpine they had sounded great for timing your speakers or setting up the "sound stage" as they called it. I want to add a 5 channel amp to run their premium door speakers as well as 1 10" sub. Nothing to crazy just a good foundation to build off of. Small amounts of dynomat will probably be used in key places. Eventually I will replace the head unit with a Nav unit but none apeal to me right now.

Well if your worried about phase issues with speakers and wanting nothing crazy...then don't get a processor like that haha

Plus it takes away from the the passengers.

If you just get a new head unit and amps and speakers it'll be much better.

Well, I figure this would be the best place to ask

First off guys, I managed to pick up my first turntable today....for 5 bucks, it was labeled broken at a thrift store, turns out the belt had come off, which I have managed to fix by simply putting it back on. I picked up an AKAI auto-return AP-100. (Pictures below)

Anyways, I have two problems with it now (it does work)

The first is it scratchy when playing (my be record, once it gets off the first song it isn't near as bad...the first song is American woman...so that might explain it). My next problem is that it plays vrry quietly. I've got it plugged into my onkyo stero, but have to turn it up quite a bit to hear it at a reasonable level (have to have it around 70 rather than the 35ish for when I play my iPod). It may just be that it is because it is a turntable. I know very little about turntables just that this one was cheap and I had been wanting one for a while

    Thanks for any help.

    Oh, and obligatory pictures

Damn, I need to set up my Music Hall 2.2... It's still sitting in the box...
You might need a preamp to increase the signal before it goes into the stereo.

I've been doing research on it and it seems that the pre amp is what I need. I'm just happy I managed to get a turntable for 5 bucks

Haha, that's a good find! I paid almost $500 for mine, but I figured it would be cheaper then buying a cheaper one, not liking it, and then having to upgrade.

Ya, a loc thrift shop had it for 5 bucks because it was "broken". I took the disk off the top and could see that the belt was just popped off, I put it back on and it worked fine
