Can i still get the Maine weed sticker? Asking for a friend :anonymous:[/QUOTE]

Yes, $45 for the year for out-of-state aquatic plants sticker. You can run the vessel under your current MA regulation, providing you also have the “weed sticker”.
Like Massachusetts, Maine doesn’t require a sticker for the more commonly item referred to as weed.

You wouldn't need to register the boat in maine but you'd need the weed sticker

Owners of non-Maine registered boats are required to purchase and affix a separate nonresident sticker.

The Nonresident sticker costs $35 in 2020 and will increase to $45 in 2022. The cost depends on the residency of the boat, not the boater! Out-of-state residents who register their boat in Maine pay the "Resident" sticker fee when registering their boat.

Stickers for non Maine-registered boats are available for sale wherever boats are registered or fishing licenses are sold. These stickers may also be purchased on-line through the IF&W on-line store. (off-site)

John - I'd actually recommend not bringing the motor if it does need to be registered in some way. We pass 2 ranger stations

Okay since a weed joke was made - it IS legal in Maine for recreational use.

However, keep in mind that crossing state borders with it is still illegal. And during the season, Maine is known to be uhhh "watching the borders for safety" o_O There are some stores right over the border in Kittery though, and I'm sure we can find stops as needed.

Just be aware of where the wind is blowing + kiddos and tents

We are not planning to cross into Canada!

You’d need the current version of this sticker:

    This sticker is optional:8F564CC7-92B2-4A56-88D2-DDE7B11B2CA6.jpg

    Thank you @SilverBulletII

I updated my first post, AND I added about life jackets needed, also that you can get on OUI in a kayak - motorized or not. So, that's... there.

Maine requires that any motorized water craft be registered, which would include motorized kayaks and canoes.
    https://www.maine.gov/dep/water/invasives/invsticker.html

In other words, non-motorized canoes or kayaks do not need to be registered nor do they need to have a "weed sticker".

There was a country store with a single 85 octane gas pump when I was there in 2019. They had very odd hours, just one guy works/lived there and he has to turn the pump power on for you.

It’s more like the state troopers on the 13 miles strip of NH between Maine and Mass are on the lookout. Not so much Maine PD.

Dang 85 octane. What am I gonna do for my fancy pants Lexus that needs 93.. guess I’ll have to bring a bunch of Jerry cans lol (if I go)

    Yeah! Raymond's.

According to Dr. Goog, we have a max of 234 miles between reasonable fuel stops (Greenville, Kokadjo). More specific numbers to come, but I think max 250 is about what we'd expect this year. Last year we did 410. Jerry cans weren't an option, it was a necessity :D

    Also true.

However, when you cross into Maine, you go under this bridge. On top of that bridge, sometimes there's a white van parked on top. IN that van, is an officer with a radar gun. After that bridge, is an on ramp where the troopers stack up and just wait. The schlub in the van calls it out, and a car jumps on to get you.

    "Vacationland"

    IF!? IIIIF!?

I see Matt is already handling this "IF" nonsense.

Octane boost with your fill up and you'll be fine. Just buy a case on Amazon and call it good.

No doubt the strip between the Maine boarder and the tolls is a speed trap. Think how many tourists go under that overpass on a Friday afternoon in the summer. Redonculous

and thanks fellas for the encouragement! I’ll try and make it
