I was going to mount it to my bed bar right under the tent. Probably not as visible than if it were up high but I think it would be visible enough. Also not sure how I would mount it high. Mainly wanted because the tent blocks the third brake light, but saw the added benefits of the chase light and a bright reverse light.

Thank you for the suggestion! I will dig into that a bit.

Was gonna suggest the Amazon special 6 gang too, 100 bucks yeah but it'll be a fused and switched circuit

When do you want to be able to turn it on? With the ignition, park lights or all the time (battery)?
Where will it be mounted? The specs say it draws less than an amp so you may be able to wire it directly (no relay needed).

For the chase light- Just when needed so would have to go to a switch- with ignition on. Running, brake, and reverse lights will get tied in directly to the current brake, running and reverse circuits.

Going to be a spendy month with new tires going on next week, but seriously considering the switch module linked a couple posts back.

I would also get the switch panel. If you wire the lights now, you will have to rewire them when you get the switch panel. It will also make it easier to add stuff down the road (future proof).
Do you currently have any aftermarket lights?

Just fogs, but tied to my factory fog switch. I agree with you on future proofing.

I looked at the switch panel on Amazon. Looks like there are different colors (lighting) available. Get one that you like so you're not changing it out at a later date.

The switch panels are nice. And the way I see it, if you're going to spend for a 6 gang - it's only a couple bucks more for an 8. Might as well.

I think just under the tent will be bright enough. This is where I am putting mine. Still have to wire it...

Yeah that's high and bright enough for sure. One of the guys has a KC bar in the same spot that is mint. It's just down on the bumper gets washed out.

That's really cool actually, I've got some cheapo pods I was gonna throw on the bed bars but this might be an option...

Hey hey hey .... don't call those cheap, you got those from me apparently

Those are the ones I have on my roof rack for chase lights. Do it. I have the combo. Those MIGHT be a darker shade of amber than mine, I noticed that they had swapped to a darker shade after mine. I might replace my ditch lights with those, lower profile.

Wire it into the factory fog lights, so you have an easy way to turn it on or off. If you're worried about power draw add a waterproof relay.
