is there an Aussie locker or ox locker that fits on a 2nd gen in the front?

Tried the search feature, couldn't find the answer.

Thank you. @ahspurlock also did a prerunner to 4wd conversion I think. I kinda want to do the same.

Awe Yeah, that's awesome guys and that price is exceptional. I didn't even know these were an option, but it's definitely on my radar now!

Keep in mind, that with that kind of front locker, you are going to be spinning the ring & pinion and drive shaft all the time, which could hurt gas mileage slightly.

So even with 4wd disengaged, it would still be spinning the drive shaft? If I use manual hubs would that solve the issue? I'm planning a conversion from prerunner to 4wd

Yes. There are only 2 ways to have a locked front axle and not spin the driveshaft in 2wd.

    1. Install an air locker or an E locker.

    2. Install any other type of locker and do a manual hub conversion.

It's possible that a Tru Trac is an exception to this. I kind of know how they work, but I have never used one.

    that's right

yea they are . I spent a lot of time researching and making calls to find someone that has a mechanical Locker for the front.

yes the front drive shaft will spin while you're in motion even if you're not in 4-wheel drive.

@ahspurlock if you were doing your prerunner to 4wd conversion again, is there anything you'd do differently?

How's this parts list look for the swap?

Don't mind the numbers-they're prices for parts I did on a quick survey. I'll be looking for better prices on most of these things.

    Tacoma 4x4 at transmission (797)
transfer case out of an auto FJ (93)
    transmission mount from a 4x4 Tacoma (50)
    front differential (300)
    front driveshaft (300)
    cv axels(pair) (100)
    4wd spindles(pair) (150)
    Shortened rear driveshaft (100)
floor shifter plate with boot (70)
interior plastics to go around the shifter console (130)

you can ues the PreRunner spindles . Just get 4wd hubs and bearings . Also get with Wyatt at rock-solid Toyotas he'll have the stock FJ cruiser tcase shifter and boots . They won't come with the tcase when you order it
