Even though ive had nothing but problems, id absolutely do it again in a heartbeat. The extra power is so addicting! The gains right out of the box are great, but as soon as you start adding things, it really wakes the blower up. If you ever go this route, go with the TRD tune. I would avoid the ucon at all costs lol

Theyve been trying to troubleshoot with me for the past few months, but ive been through almost everything now and replaced so much shit. The guy that designed the ucon and tunes them said my truck is the only one he hasnt been able to solve the problems on in over ten years. He doesnt even know what could be causing it to run lean. I bought another toyota ecu yesterday so im going to put that in and if that doesnt solve the problems, im gonna ship it off to a toyota tech from the supercharger thread that said he'd reflash it with the trd tune for me. Hopefully that will make it run pig rich, thats all im really after. Much better to run overly rich than run lean and end up melting some shit or blowing the motor

The interiors of the 3rd gens are completely different from previous gens, I've always thought of toyota interiors as kind of bland but their newer interiors are nice. We got some of the newer camrys in our fleet and they're pretty nice. I have a 6spd and it's quite nice for a truck 6spd, the only problem I have with them is the clutch pedal, that thing is noisy. I have to lube it up every couple of months (along with my leaf springs).

Yeah the 2nd gen interiors are nothing special, pretty basic as far as features go. Seems like they could've at least given us power seats considering how expensive these trucks are.. Interesting, have you driven a gen 2 6spd? curious how the trans compares to the older 6spd. I've hear they are a lot smoother and that they are a nice upgrade over the old ones. I know mine felt very clunky before I put the short shifter in it. The clutch pedals in both of my trucks are noisy as hell so I can feel your pain there. They creak and squeak and groan no matter what I do to try and keep the pushrod on the master greased up. Just kinda learned to live with it.. I think it has a lot to do with the plastic clutch pedal they use. The ones in the 6spd fj cruisers are metal. I saw where someone on here replaced theirs with a metal one out of an FJ. Seems like a nice upgrade for sure.

I haven't driven an older gen since I worked at toyota, like back in '04. I wonder if I can epoxy a metal plate where the pedal contacts the pushrod...hmmm. If I ever get to meet you at a TTC meet you can drive mine to compare. The 3rd gens still don't have power seats...at least they have the power sliding window. Did you have the UDR short shifter? I had thought about getting that but some people reported the shifters breaking where that collar goes on.

Sounds like a modification in progress! That would be great man, id appreciate that. That's crazy to me that they still don't have power seats. Not that it's "needed" just seems like that would be a good option for the TRD packages. Yeah I just noticed the power rear slider today when I saw pics of someones interior. That's a nice feature! I got the TRD short shifter for the exact reason you mentioned. I have also read many stories about the ball on the bottom of the URD one breaking off and then people being unable to drive their trucks. The TRD one replaces the whole shifter assembly and uses a spacer that goes on the top of the trans housing. The shifter assembly is also shorted. Really love the TRD one. Do you know if they offer one for the 3rd gens? If so, I cant recommend that upgrade enough. Makes the truck way more fun to drive and cleaned up what felt like a sloppy shifter before

I'm not sure if they do or not, I'll definitely have to look into it. Short shifter makes any shifter better. :burnrubber:
