How damaged? I unloaded a Corolla with a dent - sold it to the dealership. They deducted the amount their unofficial body guy would charge to pop and paint.

I've been noodling over moving the 40; if I could find a 1969 Impala SS that made sense, I probably would. 2,455 made with the 427 in it, and I actually had one in high school, albeit after the PO had pulled the 427 and 4 speed. Rarer than hen's teeth, I traded mine in on a '76 T/A.

Dang man. I may have to sell my body and buy the 40. Never really seen another one like yours.

The guy that owns Sunbusters has been wanting to buy it for about 5 years; he mentioned it when I called to get a price for wrapping the front of the wifie's new VW. I'd rather sell it to someone out of town, so I never see it again... I'm one of those guys.

A couple of other cars I had in high school, or shortly thereafter, was a '66 Chevelle, (I moved the hopped up 327 in that over to the Impala), and a '64 Chevy II, with a juicy 283, fenderwell headers, etc... I have Searches setup on eBay for those mid 60s Chevy II/Novas, and there are some nice ones out there.

Ah man, wish you were NOT that guy but I totally understand it.

I wouldn't want to see somebody driving my truck around either.

It's not exactly the same, but it's kinda like seeing the ex-girlfriend with another guy.

It's not exactly the same because I'd actually want to have some of the cars I had before!:rofl::rofl:

Heard that!!! I had a 96 mustang GT black, with peanut butter leather interior and matching convert top. Thing was So much fun it caused me to lose my license when I was a kid and had to sell it to pay court and lawyer fees. Lesson learned the hard way, I'd take that one back in a heartbeat.

Looks great! Don't beat yourself up, stuff happens. I lost my license due to too many speeding tickets in that T/A, and when I got it back, I couldn't afford the insurance anymore. Now..., that doesn't mean I sold the car, but I did run it with no coverage until I sold it.

I love drooling over the inventory here:

How much would you get selling it as a part-out?

Ehh... not sure if I want to go that direction. Honestly thinking of the ease of just going to the dealership and trading it for another (T4R but a TRD ORP) with the damage and then just handing over the insurance checks. Would this be a terrible idea?

Get an appraisal and do the math. Does the gap in the appraisal match what you have in insurance checks?

Go get it fixed first would be my advice. They pick everything on vehicles to devalue so trading something in that has essentially half the body in need of repair will just give them a reason to lowball beyond reason. They may also not be interested in taking it at all since they will most likely auction it if they do and get nothing for it.
