I got in a NextDoor pissing match, (shocker, right?), with some knuckleheads that don't think bicycles have a right to be on the roads. It was the typical "don't pay gas taxes/don't obey the law/don't have insurance" three legged stool of complaints from those that don't ride. I answered by saying:
    1. Those of us that ride also have vehicles in the garage. So we do pay gas tax.
    2. People in cars always obey the law. Why, just look at how effective the no cell phone laws are working!
    3. 12-14% of motorists in Texas are driving w/o insurance. Maybe the non riders should fix that illegal activity, before they bitch about cyclists not having insurance, which isn't a law.
I offered to switch my annual tax bill with one of the clowns braying about gas tax; it took an easy appraisal district lookup to find that he pays less in total property taxes than my wife and I pay just in school taxes. He declined, and called me a keyboard warrior boy, to which I responded that my address was readily available, should he want to swing by and repeat that in person.:rofl::rofl:

If people actually got out and rode, maybe they would be less twisted in a knot about the topic!

What, and get actual exercise that releases endorphins and makes one feel better about themselves and life in general? Don't bring that crazy talk in here, mister.

I am an HOA president who avoids all social media as much as possible because I just don't care. Every time someone in the neighborhood comes bitching to me about someone else, the first thing I ask is "well, did you talk to them first? You ARE their neighbor - be a neighbor." Three years on and they're finally getting the hint.

You and Sally Ann are at it because you don't like how she puts her trash cans out? I don't care.

You don't think that Bill's grass is green enough considering the current weather conditions? IDGAF.

You think that Joey shouldn't be allowed to do X even though it's not illegal, permitted by the city, and doesn't violate any safety ordinances? Get bent.

You want a community party? Knock yourself out - you have my blessing. You want me to run it? Not happenin' Jackson.

I don't care about anyone's petty squabbles - I just want to make sure our community areas are mowed, the tax and insurance bills are paid, we collect the monies we are owed, and THAT IS ALL.

And yet they still re-elect me unanimously.

A little something every chance we get.
    Morning ATX!
I sold all the bikes - they took up too much space! And no one rode them when I did maintain them.
And my yard is mowed and green Cap'n! Bet I only need to mow it twice more this year!

The black is from a trailer tire, driven by a dickhead that slowed down long enough to tell me the 6' shoulder on Ronald Reagan was his to drive on as well. He drove off when I asked him if he wanted some ICE, ifyouknowwhatImean...

I live in Waco for now, but I’m thinking of making a trip to Spider Mountain Bike Park. Has anyone been there?
