heh, so did I. My parents house burned up in the fire.

Connected to Bastrop SP via Park Road 1 is Buescher SP. It's a nice winding drive also. and Buescher wasn't affected as badly by the fires as Bastrop SP IIRC.

Sorry to hear that. My Mom and Step Dad lost their house to the fire as well. They moved in with me for 5 months till they got a new house in the Colony.

Similar for my parents, they moved in with my brother for a couple weeks, but Travelers did them right, big time. Gave them over 25grand just for the trees that were destroyed. My parents were planning on selling the house anyway, and got more in the replacement cost of the house than they would with a fairmarket value sell.

Some of the collectibles they lost were irreplaceable, but it was a bit of a mixed blessing.

THAT’S THE ONE! Beautiful park, great tent camping.

Sorry, I’ve been trying to remember the name of that park. We used to take the scouts there every fall and we’d bring a bunch of telescopes. Something about those trees let it get dark as crap at night. The fishing was okay, but the kids were more into the stars and the s’mores.

    Nitro 4.88 gears OME suspension ST/Maxx 255/85R16s
Happy Saturday Austin Tacoma hive-mind. I’m looking for some tire advice from all y’all locals. I’m currently running the Cooper ST Maxx in 255/85R16 with 4.88 gears.

This was a great combination back in Minnesota and Wisconsin. What I’m finding here though is I could use a bit more torque at 70-80 mph, plus we’re about ready to pickup a travel trailer, and I’m sure the torque would help there also... thus, I’m thinking about dropping down to the tried and true 265/75R16 size. Yes, I know I’ll loose about and inch, but I’m old enough to not GAF about looks; my truck is badass and I don’t care what anyone else thinks -grin-. Also, I would consider myself more of an overlander and explorer, versus a rock crwalker, but this truck does get dirt time regularly.

I’m wondering if I go ST Maxx again because they are probably the most tame and agressive combination I’ve found, or move to an AT (I’ve run the Grabber ATx and AT2 on my 2010 and liked them). Or, would a MT be better in Hill Country terrain? I want something that can drive for 3 hours and get out on ranch trails during wet conditions. Plus, I want something that will run well on these fast Texas highways.

Finally, I’ll probably have a set of five ST Maxx 255/85R16 (less than 5000 miles on four, and a spare that’s never touched the ground) up for sale or trade as the result of all this.

    Thank you.

A bunch a cool stickers, a bada ass MetalMiller Tx Longhorns grill emblem painted Hemi Orange, JBA long tube headers with o2 sims, Diff breather mod, Red LED interior lights, Fancy head unit that plays ipod n movies, Also DIY install factory stuff like, factory cruise control, factory intermittent wipers, OME nitro struts with 886x springs and toy tec top plate, JBA high caster UCA's for better alignmnet and dey beefier too, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs in da rear with the gear, U bolt flipper, Ivan Stewart TRD rims with 33" K Bro 2's, some bad ass weather tech floor liners so I don't muck up my interior, an ATO shackle flipper for mo travel in da rear wit the gear, also super shiny Fox 2.0 shocks back there too, all sorts of steal armor for bouncing off of the rocks like demello sliders, AP front skid, trans skid, n transfer skid, demello gas tank skid, and a tough as nails ARB bumper with warn 8k winch, I'm sure there's more
I dont think youll see humongous improvement going to a smaller tire. The coopers are great in the terrain, so I'd say stick with em. Hell, I'd say stick with the size you got.

I just sold those exact tires not too long ago.

They were collecting dust in garage. We wound up going with the Toyo AT3s in stock size on our 4Runner. They are worth looking into as well. Still look aggressive but super tame and quiet. Haven't had them off pavement but I've had the AT2s before and they worked well.

What up Austin Taco maniacs. Just popping into to say hello!

I'm a transplant from AZ/CA, been here about 6 years, and have been slowly upgrading my 2017 Taco Pro. (First one in TX!) https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZiTrW7DEypMbwmNP6

Love going to hidden falls, but I admit it's been too long since the last trip out there.

Last, I'm a manager at Charles Maund Toyota, so always happy to help in any way I can, questions, oem parts, any inside info I can get, whatever!

Hope to see you all on the trails!

    Haha touche'

I mostly just go out with the guys from work, together we've got a couple tacos (an OR and my Pro), a 4Runner Pro, a 2016 land cruiser, and whatever friends bring along.

I'm trying to get a daytrip planned soon, like in two Sundays.

I do need to troll around here more tho
