Austin Area TW Chapter (all gens welcome, even T4Rs; heck, just make it a Toyota and we're good)

Yeah I'm a manager at Charles Maund Toyota in Austin. Lemme check... I'm already showing that I have 4x 2021 Tacomas in stock, so I guess they're here! First one got here about a week ago. They shipped a good spread of trims, one TRD OR DCLB 4x4, one TRD OR DCSB 4x4, one TRD Sport DCSB 4x4, and one SR5 DCSB 4x2 4-cyl. Rebates on 'em are still pretty light tho, since GST is still pushing on the 2020's to sell.

Also I've been curious why we haven't seen Mr. Maund in any of the newer commercials?

Lol, those are actually just actors. Dude's name was Randy, and the lady's name is Araceli. They're really chill in real life, but unfortunately we changed marketing companies and Randy couldn't come along, so now we just use Araceli and Drew Davis (the local singer). Idunno if you saw the 'we wear masks and sanitize everything' commercial I did back in like March? But I got them to let me use my personal Tacoma in the shoot, which was super fun. Got a free detail job out of it too! I'm sure I can find a link somewhere

Oh and yeah, used car prices are high AF right now. Def getting some tacos in trade for stupid high numbers. They're gunna be tough to sell, honestly. It's prob going to slow down and return to more normal levels soon, according to my guy who goes to the auctions like everyday.

 

That's pretty cool that your taco got its 15 seconds of fame! I had no idea they were actors I figured they were trying to compete with Scott Elder commercials Especially when he put the Austin Powers suit on a few years back

 

Yeah that's what I figured but I don't think the darkest days are behind us yet from the economy tanking.

Nice, I think I met you early last week when my wife and I were in to test drive a DCLB to make sure it wasn't too gigantic. We've got a deposit down with you guys for a AG TRD OR DCLB 4x4 and enough packages to make it MSRP above a Pro... Too bad the Pro doesn't come in a long bed.

 

Nice! Yeah I go out of my way to talk to customers who get dope trucks. I checked and it doesn't look like they've allocated any 7568's to us in Green yet, but I'll keep a lookout for ya. Who was your salesman? I'm going to go mess with them haha.

Btw, We just finalized our new deal with A.D.S. Shocks yesterday, so I ordered an extra set for a Tacoma if you wanna go crazy on suspension ;-)

Going to keep the new taco stock-ish for now until we get out of the warranty period, my car budget still has some very large error bars with the E30 M3 still being at VSR and not done yet!

 

ohhh dude.. Toyota trucks and BMW cars, we're like brothers haha. I had a N54 335i that was an absolute screamer for a while, Cobb everything. But yeah... sold it so I could afford more truck parts.
