The real question is "How did you find Parking in San Francisco?"

I appreciate the feedback. Part of me says "5'x10' is less wind resistance, less likely to be stolen as not as much as a target' but the 6' x 12' has the 6'6" interior height (bigger wind sail) but gives so many more options. Enough room for a mini-camper (open door, screen netting, sleep in it).

Hahaha fair point, we've never actually lived in the city just outside of it. I will say that it was a great size and it was a 2001 Pace American that towed like new; for a 20 year old trailer I couldn't believe how great she felt. My dad had a 5x10 growing up and our family is all 5'11" taller and it just sucked for us.

When I was older he told me regretted buying it about a week after and wishes he just went bigger; easier to manage and store our dirt bikes/camping gear in.

I will say too, if you don't like the tandem axle, they're incredibly easy to sell. I had guys beating down my door from as far as Laredo trying to get it, sold in 3 days.

For security, I had locks on the hitch, locks on the wheels, and big fucking locks on the barn door/side door. Nobody messes with stuff usually if they see they're going to have to make a lot of noise with an angle grinder.

All I can say is never ever let Maaco in PF touch anything. I had to have then do it twice, and they still fucked up. The first time they gave me the truck back and it had obvious clear coat runs, a lot of over spray, a lot of orange peel. The second time they repainted the bumper, fenders and roof. I went to get it and it still had issues, they buffed the fuck out of it and now it looks like shit. Burned the clear off or something. I had them fix it, but they didn't paint it again and just "buffed and polished". It sill looks like shit and I can't go back to them and recommend that NO ONE goes there. Everyone there is incompetent, from the guys at the desk to the detailers. No one can do their job correctly. I should have just spent the extra money to have a real shop paint it the first time. Now I am paying another shop to fix all the mess ups..

    Some pics

This is on the roof. If you look close you can see that the paint has specs in it, and it is under the clear. They also did not paint the side of the roof and claimed that is considered another panel, they did not tell me before hand.
    PXL_20220604_233156089.jpg

Tons of spider web scratches on the hood and burned clear, you can notice it on the sun reflection.
    PXL_20220602_211839261.jpg

The shield and everything were covered in red paint, I literally had to use a can of black spray paint to clean it up.
    PXL_20220602_213655397.jpg

Same scratches/webbing on the fenders, especially when on the sun reflection.
    PXL_20220602_211844306.jpg

Also the black rubber on the fenders are not smooth, they "fixed" it the best they can.

Video of the hood, you can see in the light the areas where they destroyed it as opposed to the areas they did not buff, which look fine.

That really sucks. I am not sure I would ever trust anything I cared about to a Maaco shop anywhere unfortunately. They are the kind of place you go when you want to flip a car, not really keep it. If you look at the pics they have on google they show complete resprays of cars without even removing trim and lights, just masking them off. That kind of work always results in overspray unfortunately. Their lack of prep is what leads to the crappy stuff under and in the paint, and that's usually what you are paying for at a more expensive shop. I don't have any recommendations in town for work to fix it other than Burli's (https://berlisbody.com/), they did fantastic work on a friends Mazda after he was side swiped. I've only used Caliber in Pflugerville and their paint work was at least as good as factory, but I was dissatisfied with other stuff that happened during my repair (A tree had fallen across the hood of the truck). At this point, make sure where you take it is willing to take that hood down to primer and re-do it for it to ever look right.

I can't Like this post, obviously. Way back in 2004, just after I had moved to Austin, I hit something on the road in my 2003 Tahoe, and it put a dent in the lower portion of my rear passenger door. It was big enough to not be able to use PDR, so I took it to Henna to get the dent pulled, slight skim coat, and repaint. White vehicle, so not a big job.

A few days later, a buddy drove me by to pick up the finished vehicle, which was sitting outside. We drove by slowly, to check the work, and I looked at my friend and asked him, "Did you see what I just saw?". I think if I had had a surfboard, I could have ridden the waves in the door. He dropped me off, because I said I would be leaving there in one of Henna's vehicles, and I walked into the body shop office. The shop manager said, "Let me get the keys, and you can pay for the work in the sales office." I laughed, and told him I didn't think they farmed out body work to local high school shop classes. He looked surprised, and I told him to come out and look at what I saw. He did, and agreed with me; the guy hadn't block sanded the fill correctly, or maybe even at all.

I left in a Henna loaner, and a few days later, the Tahoe was finished, correctly, and at no charge.

That was 18 years ago, and to be honest, quality of work has only gotten worse.

I used them because they had pretty good reviews, which I now think are fake. I think it would be fine if you are flipping cars and just spray and go, but I had higher expectations than what they gave me. I live really close to Berlis, but because I see the cars that they work on, such as high end cars, I thought for sure they'd be way out of my price range, so I didn't bother. I am using Eddies Auto Body Shop now, I met him and he assured me he can correct the mistakes that they did and thankfully, at a reasonable price.

Dam bro...crappy that you had to experience that. Maybe you can file a claim with BBB and get your money back. Make them accountable for their mistakes.

Just overall a bad experience there, still shocked. This Maaco doesn't even have a listing on BBB, I checked the other day. On the other hand, Eddies Auto Body did a fantastic job. The truck looks amazing now.

Ran out of gas today. The gauge was halfway between E and the 1/4 mark. I was waiting for the light to go off to see what kind of range I'd get around town. Usually I'll fill up around 3/4 empty and my millage is around 290 miles by that point. It ran out at 331. Thankfully I was able to coast into a station and not be stranded. Scared the crap out of me because the gauge still showed fuel. Sucks it's not accurate but, at least I know now.

And knowing is half the battle. :infantry:

Sounds like you were pulling a Kramer! Hope my fuel gage isn't that bad. I'm in the field in west Texas a bit for work and gas stations become more spread out. :tumbleweed:While I've never run out of gas in my Tacoma, I have in my previous vehicle. Since that day I've always carried a Jerry can of fuel when I venture out on road trips.
