Austin Area TW Chapter (all gens welcome, even T4Rs; heck, just make it a Toyota and we're good)

The older fella at Toyota CP parts department is awesome. I ordered some UBJ castle nuts there and he said why bother driving back to the dealer for a tiny order. Once it came in they mailed it to me and saved me a round trip on 183/45's toll road. they got my vote.

 

We dealt with Marvin, he was very good. I looked at the repair yesterday while doing the nut extraction. It was in an easy to get to location, which no doubt saved some labor. I've done wiring repair in the past, but not from rodent damage. If it's a small job, it's a small PITA, but if it's more extensive it can be an issue.

It's a straight drive from Hutto, so I avoided the toll road. On the way back I got to drive on Hairy Man Road, which just made me laugh. I have to order a Tonneau Cover Pin which is a wedge shaped bracket that bolts to the front of the bed. How mine broke is a mystery, but I'm going get over there and pick one up when I have some time.

 

I changed the air filter in my Gold Wing on Saturday. Some owners have mentioned finding nests, but thankfully, nothing in mine.

 

This Sunday will be another awesome Pistons car show. The word is out, the lot will be full by 8am, so get there early. I’ll have my tuning software with me as usual. See y’all there.

Come to the show and check out all the bad ass rides. I can tune your truck there, or even better, at my house where we can do a proper test drive.

 

Another one I have to miss because of work.

 

I plan to be there and would like to discuss a tune for my Tacoma. It's a SR5, so I don't know how much benefit there might be.

 

Wish I didn't work Sunday's maybe some day I'll play possum & make it to this event

Taking Mechanic/Shop Recommendations. Currently living in Round Rock.
Feb 29th I screwed up bad and sucked muddy water into the engine. All kinds of warnings, high temp sensors, transmission temp warning etc. went off and then truck shut off. The air Filter was soaked and after removing it there was water in the intake as well. I was able to get towed out to the nearest road and towed home the next day. I've replaced the battery and electrical seems to be working. I've replaced the spark plugs and drained and replaced the engine oil. I was able to turn it over manually with a bit of water coming out while doing so. After I replaced the battery she fired up. I did a head gasket leak test with an Autozone kit and didn't see the blue fluid change color so that's a small win, However when I try to shift into gear ( Automatic Transmission) I get nothing, no engagement just the truck telling me to put it back into park and this is where I'm at now... a 2020 with 79K on the dash I'm trying to save because I screwed up.
