Thinking of a way to mount my matching spare wheel in the stock location without it getting all scratched up from the metal hangar dealy.

 

Tire carrier, so you can present it to the world!

 

No monies for that, plus I would like to keep my bed space open for groceries and other items I pick up at the mall.

 

Not that kind of carrier, on the bumper!

 

I like being able to put longer items in the bed and leave the gate down!

Plus, the bumper Ive got coming doesnt have the spindle for the swing arm

 

That can be fixed... modification time. I hear tale of someone here with a welder they hooked up and are itching to use!

This is a great question. I was considering getting a 5th, sport wheel to mount a matching tire to my existing ones, and then use the factory spot to hold it. I wonder if hoisting it with the face of the wheel pointing up would help with any road debris.

 

That's easy.

Get an old tube for a truck tire, the inner part is thicker then the outer.
Cut a piece a little bigger than the hanger.
Cut a slot out of the center.
Place this piece over the hanger.
Re-mount the new spare.
Then hit the mall in style with an in-scuffed spare
