You could possibly look for some takeoffs from a 2016, they are actually a little taller than a 2nd gen spring and give about an inch of lift if that is something you want.

Actually not looking for a lift, since I have the 6 inch fabtech lift. Just wondering if there is an upgrade to the regular SR5 coils.

I was thinking about about replacing the 6" spacer with a 3" spacer and them run an OME setup, but I found a thread where people say that rides like s***.

Also need to figure out on how to compensate the extra weight on the front (skids, bumper and soon winch). That was another reason I considered OME.

The TRD coils are wound tighter at the top to make them progressive, which means as they compress, they will get tighter than regular coils. That makes for a stiffer ride with the bilsteins. Fox and others make coil over assemblies for 6" lifts that will improve ride quality over having the spacer

The spacer is not really an issue on that lift, since it basically accommodates to the drop bracket.

But it seems there no upgraded springs without adding a lift.

    *edit*
Just looked at the ICONs, the would work, but damn that's steep......

FYI I have a full take off Suspension parts from my 2016 TRD OR took it all off with ~4 or 500 miles. UCAs, rear shocks, front coil overs. I'm in Austin and would do $150 for them

Mine is a second gen, but it seems the coils would be an upgrade. Care to separate??

More work than it's worth for me I don't have a spring compressor.. Just out of curiosity what shocks are you using that you wouldn't want the new Bilsteins that the springs are mounted to?

Bought a set of Bilstein 5100's. Would the full strut bolt up?

Can separate those in a matter of probably 15 minutes.

I bought the 5100's on CL, I doubt the guy takes em back :D

Do you know if the spring rate is different between the 2016 and 2nd gens? If the spring rate is a little higher, it could accommodate for the added weight on the front.

I don't know about the spring rate, but I do know the 3rd gen front end weighs more ;) So I'm sure that would work out for you.

Sold, let's see how that works out. I'll report back.

My 5100's will be up for grabs if somebody needs them.

I shot a coil through a fire proof metal door after a spring compressor failed.....

You should take your time, that kind of stuff is dangerous......

Yup, that was scary as hell! I always make sure there is nobody in front or behind the spring.....

Did another BMW a few month ago and when the top nut came off it made a weird sound. Almost lost it and saw the coil flying through the garage again (the noise came from the old shock, zero compression).

That's scary as shit, lol. Doing @Toyboata 's lift was about as sketchy as could be. Having to alternate sides with the compressors to get it to compress. Had it pointing at a empty field just incase

I guess I worded that wrong, when it made that weird sound I thought the compressor broke again. Nothing happened but it scared the shit out of me.....
