Gristmill! I'm trying to plan to make that little trip because if I come to C&C it will probably be in the car.

Ah I gotcha! Gristmill is really good and hopefully we can get everyone to come up! Would look pretty sweet seeing all these trucks drive through downtown Gruene and then park together :D I think we should all meet at bucees and then drive to Gristmill

No I meant the one on 35 in New Braunfles since most of the guys would be coming from Austin but I can meet you along 46 since you'll exit 607 off of 10 anyway. You'll pass right by my house and you can follow me from there :D

I wish my company was that way...we just lost 2 of our most valued engineers/project managers in the last 4 months. Trying to get new products released without them has been a huge disaster and we are like 3 months behind now lol...When our GM tried to counter their offer from Intel and some other medical tech company in Atlanta, they just laughed at him...then told him what they would be making and it was literally 30-40% higher pay than what they were making here. Then he fucked up and told one of them that they would be making more money than he is currently..."I gotta get outta here soon" is what I've been thinking.

Unless we go on those 3 days in December it will probably be warm.

Ive been continuing my research into the route for the Hill Country run and found this link:

    http://overland.kinja.com/texas-adventure-guide-for-softroaders-1793733275

On it, the soft roaders route thath the one I shared is copied from, is mentioned. And the part specifically that draws my attention is this:

"I will advise that the Sunday morning route is not recommended"

This is the part after lunch at Coopers. So, I may try to do the after coopers part on Sunday to see what its all about. @Misplaced Nebraskan mentioned that it was a long, full day's route and so maybe I can change it up a little and we can get back earlier and also get back to 71 making it a loop of sorts.

EDIT: More info on the route, what to expect and all here. The James River crossing will be on the morning portion before we hit lunch.

Doesn't really say why it's not recommended  other than the winery is closed. Possibly the sandy river bottoms. But they were in a Subaru... :D But I'm down for whatever still. :bananadance:

Id bet its all good. Ill be in RR area sunday so I wont get a chance to drive it now that I check the map. Ill send out an updated post this weekend.

Need to work on the plan for the Cheeseburger Loop. This one is simpler since the route is done already, we just need to plan on specifics like meeting point in town for convoy, meeting point at our starting point, and then when to stop for lunch. I believe there is a tavern that has good burgers called Yankee's tavern.

Sad I won't make the Cheeseburger Loop... Stupid job :frusty: I keep staring at the day on our calendar and debating PTO... but someone is already off so it would require boss' approval and someone to work OT. Or... I could just not sleep that day, convoy and then work all night
