not sure, we would have to have second ears listening to it. I have noises in my truck I can't explain either. Just the nature of the beast I suppose

Only when you're holding the brake, and in drive?

It makes the rattle noise when it's in park and ideling as well but when I put it into drive and hold the break it gets louder. It seems to go away when driving but if I stop at a light and engine is not warm yet it starts right back up. But by the time I get to work the rattle is gone. I sometimes can hear the rattle after work but it is deff louder in the morning.

The noise going away when the engine is warm, and getting worse when in drive, sounds like an engine problem. Perhaps you're getting a dry lifter. (Common if you put too heavy of an oil weight in, or don't change it at all).

Next time it happens, jump out and open the hood. Listen at the engine bay (both above and below), then walk down the passenger side to listen to the exhaust. Upper engine noises make a higher-pitched "tap," lower engine noise (if you're losing a rod) make a banging noise, and exhaust rattles. However, exhaust rattles are usually always there and don't go away when warm.

At 61,000-miles, you're a hair outside of the drivetrain warranty, but you still might want to bring it in for a diagnostic. It could be something stupid simple, or your engine could be ready to bash it's self apart. Hard to tell without hearing it.

If it is a sticky lifter, try changing your oil with 0w20 (2.7), or 5w30 (4.0). Synthetic preferred.

Thank you for responding MrsPib. I will try to locate noise tomorrow morning. I think I might just have to take it to the dealer and pay $112 for a diagnostic. I already put 5w30 Mobil Synthetic in but this is the first time I have gone 6,000 miles with out oil change. I always get my oil changed at 5,000 miles even with synthetic. So you could be correct about a sticky lifter?? I just hope its nothing major and cost a lot. And I don't want to take it to dealer and have them replace all kind of stuff thinking they fixed it. I would have to leave my truck over night because it usually only makes the rattle in the morning.
Thanks everyone for your replies!! And if anyone has anymore ideas please share. :)
I will update If I find out what is causing this.

I read the tread and there were too many "Anti-2WD" dicks going for my taste. Maybe we can do a run with just our group sometime?

Anti-4wd dicks is kinda rude to say.... plus everyone is sarcastic on forums so you need to put that into account. Everyone is awesome that I got involved with this meet. Just give it a chance and the beauty of it is no rocks on your truck! I donno I just didn't like how you referenced the 4wd ppl.... just sayin
