True. Although rock sliders mostly see forces pushing them upwards which would put the 8 bottom bolts under the most load I would think.
Imo not as strong as a welded on slider, but I really like the appeal of being able to take them on and off that easily.

Would make doing touchups much better than having to mask off the side of the truck to protect from overspray.

That would a super nice feature. Re-painting and touching up would be easier and the end result would be nicer.

Personally, I roll on paint on my sliders. But that's just because I don't want to put the time into masking (lazy). If I could take them off I'd totally spray them...probably in the same amount or less time than rolling too.

hopefully not too close or they will hit the cab due to the cab flex. Mine do this. Wish I'd got a bit lower.

Nothing is stopping it from happening. And no the stock rack does not have an internal stop. The OEM design is that the stops are on the LBJ actually and they hit the OEM LCA.

So could you potentially over-rotate your CV's and cause damage to them or something else?
What are the negatives to not having steering stops anymore?

    No you wouldn't do that.

And you just put some extra strain on the rack guide as that becomes your stop.

Fwiw I have been running them for a year now with no issue. And all long travel kits are like that as well and don't have steering stops.

    Gotcha.
Interesting. Do you get quite a bit more steering angle out the rack by ditching the OEM stops? or is it not that much more?

Oh yeah! I believe snow calls it the 2.5 kit if I remember correctly. It's been trouble free. I really have no complaints. Since installing it my pulls are much more consistent compared to no meth injection. I would highly recommend it for anyone that's supercharged.

Also, I'm just using -20 washer fluid because I wanted the cooling affects and really don't need more fuel with my 7th injector tune.

Thanks! I originally tried getting CBI to sell me just their slider frame clamp to weld onto my sliders but they wouldn't do it. This was much easier to fabricate than the style that CBI makes so I decided to go this route.

As @cynicalrider said, I think most of the force is going vertically through the bolts rather than wanting to pull them out. With the force being distributed over 16 1/2'' bolts, I'm pretty sure it will stand up to the abuse that a weld on slider would. With that said, I'm not very hard on my sliders so I probably will never find the limits of this setup.

I think I got the slightest amount more steering angle after losing the stops. I'm guessing the stops limit the rack just before the rack internals do.

One of the main reasons I rebuilt these is because when I had passengers in the back of my truck my cab pinch weld would literally sit on my sliders. I have about 3/4 - 1'' of gap between the sliders and pinch weld so it should be good now.

Worse comes to worse you can bend that pinch weld too. I smashed mine and then sealed it with silicone.

Not a huge improvement in ride quality. The added caster seems like it helped make the truck track a little straighter and the steering wheel feels tighter. The main reason I got them was to eliminate tire rub, but I also got them for the improved bushing design and the added strength compared to the stock arms.

I touch on some more features of the arms further back in this thread.

During compression, what keeps the straps from getting squished in the coil or pushing the brake lines into the coil?

The strap is far enough away from the coilover that I don’t think that’ll be an issue. I could see it possibly pushing the brake line into the spring though. I didn’t even think about that, I’ll have to keep an eye on it.
