I'm not sure if you found a place for your spare battery, but this has worked for me.
Pay no attention to the mess in the bed ;)

No disrespect to your build but I just really like having an empty bed without anything mounted in it. Once I build a thick battery box for the batteries, having them mounted under the bed shouldn't be an issue.

I found some nice pliable edge trim to clean up my hood notch with.

Planning on learning to TIG this summer so maybe I'll fill it in and paint it down the road.

New tire day. I've been on STT Pro's since I learned how to drive so I decided I wanted to try something new and went with these KM3's.

Looks good. What size are those?

I am considering KM3s for the next set. While the STT Pros have done their job, they have worn out really quickly. I'll be lucky if I get 30K out of a 5-tire rotation set.

    285/75/r16.

Mine wore out very quickly as well which is one of the reasons I started looking at other tires.

I welded up 3/5 of the known cracks on my truck this past weekend. Just did these ones for now so my core support would't split in two and let my battery tray loose. The others are in my wheel well in the upper corner of my bed, not as critical, but I'll get to them soon.

I'm definitely going to move both batteries out of the engine bay and I think I found the perfect spot today. The area where the muffler goes has a bunch more room above the frame rail than any other area under the truck, so I'm going to shorten up my exhaust and put the batteries up in that area caged with some 1/4'' plate.

    The worst crack:

    IMG_2066.jpg

Sanded and drilled at the end of the crack.

    IMG_5684.jpg

    Welded and sanded down.

    IMG_3934.jpg

I also had to replace one of my AC lines. When I was working in the engine bay the other day I bent the AC line over to the header to make some room and forgot to bend it back. Ended up burning a hole in the line. I got this new one and wrapped it in some heat protection just because it sits pretty close to my headers even when it's back in its proper location due to the engine crossover being in the same area.

Replaced steering rack bushings today. With the tack weld mod, and delrin / poly bushings everywhere else in the suspension, this was the last piece of the puzzle. The steering now feels even better than a new vehicle IMO.

Not that I know of, but you can machine delrin, so you could probably have some made by a machine shop.

I understand you might be building your own due to cost but wouldn’t a set with heim joints accomplish this?

Mainly I just wanted to build my own because I thought it would be a fun project.

I also didn't want heim joint UCA's on my daily, so that gave me another reason to build my own with poly bushings.

The cost savings is pretty great too. A pair of adjustable TC UCA's run about $1100 and so far I have about $300 into these.
