We got a plug and play piggy back chip that we plug into our 3L common rail turbo diesel and increases power upto 140hp and torque by 15% and fuel economy gets better by 10%.

    How ever, it costs $1500aus.

I'm assuming you mean up to 140kW? If so, that's pretty good. That puts the output of the piggyback modified 3L CRD at 187 HP / 291 ft-lb torque (assuming a 15% gain in twist), with a fuel economy of ~28mpg. I'd pay a premium for that!

Not sure how much you have to erase to get this to come up in your browser but here are what the Brits are getting now. I read somewhere they imported a whopping 500 of them....I just hope we get them here. In south africa I'm thinking you have a solid axle vs. an independent suspension which toyota wants for the North American Market because the ride is much better. But the solid axle has served you fellahs in your parts of the world since the truck is used as a work horse (driven like a truck) and keeps on going...:yay:

Drove a prado gasser in Kuwait this last tour and it was sweet. I thought it did a great job considering the heat. Not much inside room though. We have had a couple of diesel hilux there as well but I think the horsepower was like 54. It accelerated like a dog but it kept on going....

That's bad-ass! There's no efficient gas engine that will perform like that!

Nothing special, ive test driven that already.

Ive seen some D4D's tuned to the max with a after market turbo/intercooler/piggyback system and 3" full exhaust getting 300+hp.

Hate to see engine life on that tho....

The diesel comes in 2 configurations, 4 Speed auto(shit) but needs to be this to keep the rev's up for the turbo, and 5 speed manual (shit) the clutch gets f***** pretty quickly if towing or driving with a heavy load.

The best is the 4L V6 which comes with a tough as nails 5speed Auto.

Yeah yeah yeah .......nothing special........ These arn't aftermarket 'bolt ons' these are from Toyota - tested - anyone can strap a turbo to a toaster and go fast!!
I thought you said "no way on earth Toyota would make a 197hp Hilux" and - "197hp diesel Hilux - count me in" - nothing special!!
