Yes, that should have been a warning sign.

 

That's normal. It's not personal. It's basically written proof that "you've now been told the expectations."

I've been on both sides of the table. Neither side is pleasant. When I was on the managers side, I did everything in my power to keep it impartial and professional. When I was on the recipients side I knew it for what it was - a personality clash.

Most times I just swallowed the pill, signed it, and did better. Only once did I request a pause so that I could review the expectation and provide a written response by the next morning. Keep in mind that if one does that, they are intending to seek employment elsewhere. It's a bridge burning move, but it can be a useful tool in a hostile environment.

 

True, I had to write a couple of people up when I was a supervisor in retail. I was pretty lenient about discipline stuff in general above asking people to do a task, so if I had to go that far it was not done lightly or based on one day.

That said @TnShooter is right, it's a protection of the company just in case. Especially in our litigious society. A friend at my job once got dragged to HR when he placed two black females he managed on a performance plan. They retaliated by accusing him of racism and sexism. Fortunately he was fastidious about documenting things and had all that ready for the meeting, but it never got that far.

We presently have one Grand Wagoneer in our fleet, and yesterday I drove it for the second time. The Grand Wagoneer is a over $100K and has a lot of improvements over the regular Wagoneer, though unfortunately none of them make it more reliable…

 

One the more subtle upgrades to the Grand Wagoneer is a McIntosh stereo instead of the standard model’s Alpine sound system…

 

And one the best backup cameras I’ve ever seen! It also has a front view camera, which is something I wish it were easier to put in my truck…

 

Also yesterday, a Mitsubishi Mirage with Illinois plates came in that hastily repaired damage from an obvious break-in attempt; I think that it probably came from Chicago…

 

At one time. They had bad problem with water leaking in from the sunroof.
Depending on how bad it got before the owner caught it. They can be a total loss.
Not to mention the myriad of other issues it can have. If I owned one, I'd sell it before the warranty ran out.

We also had two Maserati Levantes, and I got to drive one…

 

I was not impressed at all…

 

One dead giveaway that this is little more than a gussied up Chrysler product would be the screen for the stereo and HVAC systems…

About 1.5 hours north-east of me.
I grew up closer to Greene county, but migrated west a bit.
I have seriously considered moving back towards Sevier or Grainger county.
But who knows.......
