I initially freaked out because a couple months ago I read that letting your acceptance rate slip below 60% was grounds for deactivation; I talked with another Dasher a couple weeks ago while we were waiting food (a cute girl with a 2006 Mustang) and she showed me that her acceptance rate was like 44%. I found out the hard way that completion rate is what the powers that be monitor...

I have been cancelling a lot of orders lately because the restaurants take forever (I'm looking at you, Chipotle)! If your acceptance rate is between like 80% and 89%, it's considered "medium". When my acceptance rate dropped to 82%, I got a warning saying that my account could be deactivated if it dropped below 80%. There is apparently no "happy medium"; Anything below 80% is considered "very low", which is bullshit in my opinion!

Yesterday morning, I went down to 78% because I cancelled a couple orders after accepting them; One particular order was actually two orders from two different restaurants. The first one was for $8.25 and the second one $3.25; Sometimes I will take a secondary order if it is above four bucks, but $3.25 is just insulting! My account was eligible for deactivation, but I accepted two more orders and got it back up to 80%.

DoorDash tries to trick Dashers into accepting Walmart orders by bundling them together (two to four orders for generally less than $7 each), but luckily I don't accept ANY Walmart orders anymore!

The Chipotle at Valley Square shopping center in Warrington is a total dumpster fire, and I will NEVER go there again; I last went there a few days ago (last Friday according to my text notifications), and they were an hour behind on orders (I though Chipotle was considered to be "fast food"...?). I believe the fact that they only three employees working had something to do with it. A woman with her husband and daughter told an employee that while she didn't blame him directly, she found it unacceptable that they only had three people and were taking so long; She promptly cancelled her order (through the Chipotle app) and walked out. After realizing that my order (which came in at 1:28pm) would likely be over half an hour late, I cancelled the order almost ten minutes after getting it on the grounds that the food was not ready; I walked outside but didn't even make it to my truck before two orders from that Chipotle came in almost simultaneously at 1:37pm. A third order came in at 1:38m before they finally ceased; I do believe that I might have paused my dash until I got farther away from the Chipotle...

I get notifications in the form of texts; Here are all the backlogged orders from the Warrington Chipotle that I turned down on my way back to the truck...

Yesterday, I went to the Chick-Fil-A in North Wales that’s right next to the Montgomery Mall because I thought I had an order from there; After talking to an employee of that Chick-Fil-A (which is a standalone building with a drive-thru that had its own dining room prior to COVID), I found out that the order was coming from a Chick-Fil-A in the adjacent mall’s food court.

Even before COVID, I refused to pick up inside malls because I had to park the truck and the go inside, which wasted valuable time; Now that I’m fully vaccinated, I don’t mind going inside malls on my own time, but I still won’t do it because it’s a waste of valuable time. As soon as I found that the order was from the Chick-Fil-A in the mall, I turned it down, which played a part in nuking my completion rate; As soon as I ditched that order, three more from the Chick-Fil-A in the mall food court came in one after the other and I declined every single one!

The HotSpot zone is incredibly misleading because any Dasher will look at it and assume it is referring to the Chick-Fil-A across the parking lot from Wegman’s; What I don’t get is why people were ordering from the Chick-Fil-A in the mall when there is a traditional drive-thru/drive-up one right there that is much more easily accessible! I honestly think that the customers assume they are ordering from the drive-thru location and not the food court location...

You will notice in this screenshot and the screenshot from the quoted post that I get two text notifications on some orders for some reason; I have no idea why this is, but it’s a bit annoying, especially because the Dasher app automatically updates me without the use of text messages!

    D580E5A8-8622-4704-B1FB-92D6034EBFDC.jpg

So, the infamous Valley Square Chipotle is just steps away from the Saladworks; I didn’t even get all the way into the shopping center before the Dasher app started blowing up my phone with Chipotle requests (four in just a few minutes)! What does this tell us?!?!

This Chipotle is very well-known among Dashers in my area for its slow service, and my guess would be that they all don’t feel like waiting for more than half an hour for an order that’s unlikely to net them more than $8.50; The order likely keeps getting passed from Dasher to Dasher until someone who is willing to wait gets it or enough time has passed that the order is ready for pickup!

The only Chipotle locations I will pick up at this point are the ones in Dresher and Montgomeryville; The Montgomeryville one is always busy, but wait times have never exceeded ten minutes while I was waiting for food. The Dresher location always seems to have the orders ready on time.

There is also a Chipotle in Cheltenham that I refuse to go to because (A) it’s right near the always-packed Cheltenham Chick-Fil-A, and (B) it is the only Chipotle I’ve been to that has closed its restrooms to the public, going as far to put keypads on the doors in case someone sneaks past the employees.

What really pisses me off about Saladworks is that their public-before-COVID restrooms are now for employees only; This is not limited to one store, as both the Doylestown and Warrington location have closed them to the public.

To give you an example of how ridiculous this is, the Chipotle and the Panera Bread that are both within viewing distance of the main entrance to Saladworks (all three are in the Valley Square shopping center in Warrington); Both Chipotle and Panera Bread have restrooms that are open to the public, and both are also open for indoor dining. The Saladworks restroom is not open to the public and the place is takeout/delivery only. However, the Valley Square Saladworks is very efficient, with the food being ready immediately; The base payouts are generally good, and the customers tend to tip well, so I will continue to pick up from that Saladworks...

My dashcam is currently malfunctioning and didn’t capture what happened...

    :annoyed:

Anyway, this asshole in a red Camry with a North Carolina plate swooped in behind me while I was parking curbside at the Five Guys in Warminster during a DoorDash pickup. I did not see him, nor was I expecting him; He just swooped in and blasted his horn.

Startled, I open my door, looked back, and screamed “What the hell are you doing?”

He took offense to this and started swearing at me, then went inside and left his car exactly as you see it in the pictures below WITH THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION! It would have been karma of the sweetest variety if someone had stolen that Camry...

So, the guy goes into Five Guys, and I honestly should have just cancelled the order and left but I didn’t...

Turns out the owner of the Camry was a Grubhub driver; He was sitting in a booth and starts saying shit to me, so I tell him he shouldn’t have tried to zoom in like he did. In a fairly crowded restaurant, he calls my truck a piece of shit and threatens to slash my tires. Keep in mind that NO COLLISION took place; I’m pretty sure I told him that I’d kick his ass if he touched my truck, which I think I was justified in saying. He keeps making wiseass remarks and I discreetly started recording with my phone. At one point he was like three feet away from me and I was shaking because I was afraid; I walked out while still recording and made sure to get the asshole’s license plate number on camera, at which point he told me to “get my rat ass away from his car”. I then reiterated again that this was all on him for driving like an idiot and that I had him on dashcam (which I just found out is a lie because the damn thing isn’t working properly).

I say again; I was in the process of backing up in front of the curb, and this entitled prick in the Camry just zoomed right up and tried to wedge his car between my truck and the black Jeep Renegade you also see in the picture. When I called him out on it, he decided to start acting like a thug; The threat to kick his ass was largely a bluff, but I have pepper spray and I would have used it on the prick to prevent him from damaging my truck.

Also, look again; You can’t see it but the red Camry was registered in North Carolina. If you look closely, you’ll see that the black Jeep has a Tennessee plate; Don’t know if at least one of these is a rental, but I just find it odd to see two vehicles from so far away!

I still think I could have responded better; I shouldn't have said "What the hell are you doing?!?!"

And again, I would have laughed if someone stole his car; He left the keys in the ignition, and it was not a shitbox! It was a nice newer model Camry!

In Pennsylvania, the restrictions with the exception of wearing masks are supposed to be lifted on May 19th...

Either yesterday or on Friday, I got a call to place called Nektar Juice Bar in Blue Bell; I’d never heard of this place before, but I’m thinking it’s a national or regional chain/franchise. In this particular shopping center in Blue Bell, there are numerous restaurants; With the exception of the Nektar place, every restaurant in this shopping center allows indoor dining and has its restrooms open to the public (I’ve picked up DoorDash orders at all of them). This was my first time going to Nektar, and the place had indoor dining and public restrooms prior to the pandemic, but now they don’t. I went in there, and there was a lone female employee dressed like she was a doctor about to perform a surgery rather than someone serving frozen drinks... o_O

All of the other restaurants were packed, but this one was dead; It is absolutely infuriating to me that so many restaurants still have their public-before-the-pandemic restrooms closed to everyone but the employees.

    :annoyed:

As I stated above, I don’t know if Nektar is a privately owned place or part of a chain, and if it falls into the latter category I don’t know if it’s an independent franchise; This was seriously the only restaurant in the shopping center that sealed off to the public in the way that it was! All restaurants in my area require masks and a few don’t allow indoor dining, but the majority do allow you to use their restrooms.

The Jade Island Chinese & Japanese Restaurant in Warrington has officially been shitlisted after this order; This place is consistently swamped and has wait times well over ten minutes, and even though the payouts are generally high the wait just isn’t worth it. On top of that, this is one of those restaurants that not only does not let the public use its restrooms but won’t let anybody in at all; All translations are conducted one person at a time in the entry vestibule. The food was supposed to be picked up by 5:43pm and as I type this it is now 5:47; The food is supposed to be delivered by 6:14 and I’ve got another order to pick up...
