All of these had very good payouts, but it's Walmart; I absolutely refuse to go to Walmart, and I also suspect that some consisted of orders for like three or four different customers...

It was six orders; Six Walmart orders in three minutes!

    0719321F-1B87-4DA8-9E67-745F33632171.jpg 12FFBF54-514A-4E4D-B0BA-A2018437FC44.jpg

I initially selected the "Fort Washington/Horsham" zone. My house is located literally right on the line between this zone and "Doylestown", which has proven to be very convenient at times; However, there is one Walmart about two miles from my house and another one about five miles away. I can't start Dashing at certain times without three or more orders from whichever Walmart I'm closest to...

I ended my "Fort Washington/Horsham" dash before it actually got started, and started a new one in the "Doylestown" zone; Even orders from each of those respective zones go across the line into the other zone, switching zones ended the deluge of Walmart requests...

However, I encountered an issue not long after leaving my house!

A freaking convoy of snowplows on Street Road in Warminster that seemed to doing little more than salting the road every so often, and otherwise just holding up traffic...

There had to be like four of five of the bastards, and one of them (seen in front of the black Hyundai in front of me in these photos) cut off the aforementioned black Hyundai without signaling, then seem to just straddle the center of the 2-lane road to keep traffic from passing on the left!

    :annoyed:

This picture came out blurry, but you can see that one of the plow trucks came a bit closer than I would liked...

There had to be like five of these snow plows total, and not township trucks, but dump trucks from a private company that had been contracted.

At one point, the two leading the pack (and preventing me and the black Hyundai from passing), stopped and raised their dumpers; I have no idea what they were doing because nothing came out of the trucks...

I initially got one order from Bucks Bagels on York Road in Warminster, for a staggering $10.25! While en route, I got another order from the same place for $8 and took it in a heartbeat; Here's my truck in the parking lot of Bucks Bagels, when I finally got there!

I almost ruined my underwear on a back road; I'm assuming it was black ice. I swerved and hit a snowbank, which I bounced off of and almost ended up in someone's yard across the road; Somehow I largely kept the truck under control!

If they were still moving a little with there beds up it was for traction it puts more weight over the back drive axel. I cannot tell for sure but it doesn't look like they were chained up. If they were not moving i have no idea why they would raise the bed.

Insultingly low payouts from today's Dash, all three of which I declined...

I am about done with Asian restaurants; Why? Because for starters, I've been to two of them this weekend that don't let customers in at all. The one in New Britain from the other day didn't even allow people into the entry vestibule. This one, in a shopping center on Route 611 in Warrington, was letting people into the entry vestibule, but no further...

I have no idea if these places ever fully reopened for eat-in dining, but I'm going to go with no; Jade Island, also in Warrington and less than a mile away from the place pictured above, is now open for indoor dining. However, they still seem to be understaffed and the orders take too long, so I shitlisted them again! The two exceptions to the "no Asian restaurants rule" are yet another place on 611 in Warrington, and a place in North Wales. There's a buffet on 309 in Montgomery County, which I've discussed here before, that as of the last time I was there was not letting anybody in without checking their temperature; At this point, I believe that is just an invasion of my personal space! If I get another order from there, I will go back for the sole purpose of seeing if they are still checking temperatures, and if they are I will not go back until the pandemic is over!

Going back to the place above, there is a townhouse development that went up in the last five years directly behind the shopping center where is this one Asian place is located; I had never been to this place before, so I followed the GPS and realized something was amiss when it tried to take me to someone's house...

Also rather odd was the fact that a pizza place called Sal's was listed on the order; Sal's is located in the same shopping center, and I have picked up orders there a few times before, but I have no idea why Sal's was listed here and the woman at the Asian place was confused as well. I informed her of both the GPS issue and the pizzeria being listed on the order, and she thanked me...

That brings us to why I took this order in the first place, because it was almost twenty bucks for one delivery; That is almost unheard of during the day! I quickly found out why...

It was going to an address in Newtown; Luckily, it wasn't going all the way to Newtown, but rather to a Newtown address that I'm pretty sure was still in Buckingham Township. Needless to say, it was still a pretty far drive, and the only reason I accepted it is because the payout was so high!

The customer lived in a beautiful subdivision of huge McMansion-style houses, most of which had 3-car garages; I'm pretty sure that all of them were on at least an acre of land. The customer's house itself had a late model Range Rover in the driveway, and my guess would be that a kid or two was home alone and they just had to have lunch from that particular restaurant, even though it was about ten miles away; Normally I would not accept a job that involved driving this far, but it was nice out and the pay was good!

That brings us to an issue that arises whenever I accept an order that's even the slightest bit outside of my chosen "zone"; The gray shaded area is the "zone" in which the customer with the McMansion and the Range Rover was located. That blue dot marks my approximate location shortly after delivering the food, and the unshaded area with the "hotspots" is not only the zone that I chose to work in that day (Doylestown), but also where the numerous shitlisted Asian restaurants including the one where I picked up the $19.50 order are located; Look how far I had to drive out of my zone!

Getting an order that crosses "zone" lines is not a big deal in itself; The issue begins when the DoorDash app picks me up as the closest available Dasher, and begins assigning me orders in a zone that I did not sign up to work in!

    :annoyed:

I believe that the house with the Range Rover was actually located somewhere in that area that is basically "between zones"; The extension that goes out to the New Jersey border encompasses a narrow swath of both Buckingham Township and Solebury Township, along with New Hope, Pennsylvania and Lambertville, New Jersey. I absolutely refuse to go past Peddler's Village at this point because driving out in that area is more stressful than in the Buckingham Township/Doylestown area...

    D67DA025-5065-4819-AAE7-507DE2930F30.jpg

You can also clearly see where Newtown Borough is located in the above photo, and just how far it is from the Doylestown "zone"!
