    I have made over $2,500 since the beginning of July just from Doordash, and it got me through roughly two months of unemployment, but I think it’s served it’s purpose.

    @Taco critter

    Racking up miles does not bother in the slightest, but what does bother me is that this constant stop-and-go driving is completely murdering my gas mileage. Used to be I could make it through a week on a single tank of gas; Sometimes, I’ve been refueling up to three times a week since I started Doordash. I get between 15 and 18 MPG, in a 4-banger Tacoma! The fact that we had a brutally hot summer and I am a prolific air-conditioner user did not help the matter...

    @Taco critter

    With Doordash, at least proving that my documents (driver’s license, registration, insurance) are up to date is a one-time thing...

    Uber requires proof that these documents are always up to date; I can understand this if you are driving people around, but who gives a shit if it’s food?!?!

    Also, I know a couple of people who are precluded from driving Uber Eats because of a DUI conviction in the last ten years. Again, I can understand these rules for driving people around, but why should it matter if a food delivery driver has a past DUI?!?!

    I don’t drive drunk, I’ve never gotten a DUI, and I’ve never lost my license for any reason; I just don’t think a good person who made one mistake deserves to be excluded from being an Uber Eats driver for up to a decade!

    Uber Eats “boost” areas are still too spread out!

    Doordash’s delivery zones are much better than Uber Eats’ in terms of layout, but they still suck!

    This is the “Bryn Athyn” zone, which is very poorly named and downright misleading in my opinion because Bryn Athyn only comprises a small section; That blue dot represents my location at the time I took the screenshots...

    Bryn Athyn is in Montgomery County, but most of this section is Bucks County; To give you an idea of general location, I was in Bucks County when I took the screenshot and the blue dot represents my location (Ivyland and Richboro are in Bucks County)...

    This particular area (Newtown) is a good half hour from my house under most circumstances...

    Like I said, the actual Bryn Athyn only comprises a small section of the delivery zone named
    after it!

    Another that absolutely sucks about Doordash is that my area (Central Bucks) has been saturated. There are people who obviously have much more time on their hands than I do because I’ve never been able to reserve a spot in the most lucrative time slots (at least not with $1-$3 bonuses). The only choices are often during odd hours...

    You can select which zones appear in your schedule, and I’ve deselected all the ones that are too far away; As such, this 30-minute slot in Sellersville is the only one available for me right now...

    Also, why do I need proof of registration and insurance to deliver food?

    FYI, seasonal delivery in personal vehicle for UPS pays up to $30 an hour plus 0.58 per mile. It’s only seasonal, but if you like driving around in the snow anyway.. :)

    Between Thanksgiving and Christmas is their peak season. Lots of money to be made there.

    If I wanted to drive for a living, it would be for an established company without the record Uber has.

    Best part is there’s no age limit on a vehicle. So I can drive my 22 year old 4Runner (or 28 year old Pickup) without any whining.

    Unless I get fed up with my current job and quit (highly unlikely), I have no plans of doing Doordash anymore.

    That’s Doordash, right? Uber Eats as of 2019 requires all vehicles to be 1998 or newer.

    Also, one thing I have a huge problem with is people who give me an attitude; There’s a lot of that in Doordash...

    Makes me angry and brings up my blood pressure!

    Why does Uber care if my insurance is up to date? I’m just delivering food...
