Which is perfectly legal to own here! I've got friends with legally owned AK-47s too!

My dad was born in New Jersey and lived there until he was like 15; It was nice then. I've got a step-grandma, and an aunt and uncle who all live in Edison; My uncle is a cop in Edison (Lieutenant; Been on the force since 1993), and once he retires they're all moving to Florida...

Keep in mind that they're semi-auto AKs; With the proper licensing it is possible to own a fully automatic weapon in some states, but it is very expensive...

    :spending:

There are a few places here in Pennsylvania where you can rent fully automatic weapons!

My mechanic has another mechanic working for him who is a former Marine; He has a serious issue with the distinctive sound of an AK-47 after being fired upon by insurgents in the Middle East and won't even fire one himself...

Yep. Both...But you get them done at the same time. The place has multiple lines that you drive into, and as you go along in that line they check various things. You stay in the car and drive it from one station to the next. First emissions, then lights and horn etc. Then brakes as you drive over rollers and you have to stop them with the brakes. Then suspension from underneath where the vehicle is shook back and forth on movable tracks while.
Its pretty cheap. They only charge $30 USD or so for the whole thing.

They're done at the same time here, too; Wish it was done as fast here as it is there though!

Yeah. Its amazing how well it's set up. You book an appt online and just show up on the date and time. You pay your fee at the office first and then drive to the number line that they tell you to go to. They even have a line for big trucks and busses.

Is there an age limit on how old vehicles brought into Costa Rica from another country can be? My aunt lived in Kenya for a time and said they were really strict...

Last December, you said something about me opening up a Pandora’s box of sorts and I found the original comment...

Sometimes, it’s fun to open up a Pandora’s box or a can or worms (Whatever you wanna call it); A perfect example would be asking what the best overall pistol is, or what the best one is for concealed carry. I kinda knew what I was getting into when I started that thread, and not only did I learn quite a bit, but I also got to see some of the firearms enthusiasts of TW duke it out in friendly arguments! :D

I read last year that they were looking at an age limit for importing a vehicle. I just searched and all i could find was that vehicles that were a total loose, tampered VINs, vehicles with unauthorized structural parts. Those kinds of things.

Plus the duties are very high.

Vehicles up to and including 5 years old are subject to a 52% duty
Vehicles 6 years and older are at 79% duty.

This percentage is based on the value of the vehicle that is placed on it by Costa Rica.

Plus the cost of the shipping of the vehicle here. Which is about $1,000.

This is why l decided to buy a vehicle down here, rather than bring mine with me.

They are more expensive here, but no rust issues!!

For me, firing a gun is therapeutic and downright stress-relieving, but not in a violent way. If all safety protocol is adhered to, shooting to me is like a playing a video game; My goal is to get the bullet through the center of the target...

Also, if I'm given access to an arsenal, it's a lot like test driving cars and trucks; I want to fire this 9mm, that .45, this revolver, that AR, this shotgun...
