Why? It’s not meant to be offensive. He talks about all the time and is open about living with it so he seemed like the appropriate person to ask. I was honestly curious if he has any restrictions because of it.

You should be banned for asking someone a question? What kind of crap is that?

There are a few good aftermarket mounts. Master Mount goes on the side like the the standard side rail. Texas Weapons Systems and FAB Defense make good dust cover replacements with a rail that hold zero well with a red dot.

I actually said later that you should not be banned but rather given a chance to explain your position regarding the question. I did consider that the comment may have come across in a way beyond what you intended. I mean no hard feelings or disrespect but feel that you could have easily gotten the information you sought with a quick Google search. I feel your question came across poorly even if your intent wasn't. Like @Taco critter I was trying to look out for another member.

Your friend is not a child he’s a grown man. He says it’s his goal to teach people about living with autism. I think asking him a question related to ownership of a firearm and autism in a thread about firearms and autism is completely appropriate.

But he says he wants to give us the information. So why wouldn’t I ask him? He comes here specifically to talk about this kind of stuff or so I thought.

How about just "Can someone with autism own guns?" When someone says "condition", I feel like I'm being treated as a diagnosis rather than a person.

I don't think the issue I took with it is so much that you asked him but rather the manner in which you asked if that makes sense. What I saw, and apparently some others did as well, was a poorly constructed question that came across as tacky and even insulting. The problem with text based communication like this is that you can't truly get a sense of the other person and what might be intended as a legitimate search for information can come across as a snarky or demeaning question. Revisit your post and see if you can understand how others here feel.

    Have a good weekend.

While an individual with autism can have more serious mental issues like bipolar disorder or schizophrenia in addition to autism, most of us are not mental cases, and not only can people autism legally own firearms but I know three who are US military veterans (two males, one female). I am not aware of any autistic LEOs, but I'm sure they're out there. I have three friends with autism, all guys in their 30s, who own multiple guns (two of whom are veterans). The one autistic female veteran I know served in the Middle East (forget where), so I'm assuming she received firearms training, but I do not know if she has any personal weapons.

ive had a few different AK's. Norinco is Chinese and is a great shooter. ROMAK or Romania's shoot ok also, my experience with MAADI's ive had is they shoot, but arent as well built as Norinco. Also shot a NHM91 i think its called. Its a good shooter also.

MAADI'S Ive had are no where near same category as Norinco.

Before moving here, I had one of the pre import ban Norincos.

    Would recommend.

I wouldn't own a Maadi MISR SA model. Mine's a lot older that that version.

The MISR Maadi is pretty cheap. I've seen WASR's go for more.

Sorry if I offended you Charlie was not my intention. I have major depressive disorder myself and personally don’t care what people call it. A condition a disorder a complete pain in the ass cause it’s all of the above. I guess sometimes I forgot not everyone looks at things like me. When I talk to you I don’t see a person any different from anyone else so I talk to you the same way I would anyone but I’ll try to be more sensitive about it in the future. Thanks for the info.

Lots of IT, radio, network types. It a common (and fairly true) stereotype of Signal.

I have seen them running D&D games during lulls in FTXs.

So they're autistic nerds? I love it! I considered joining the military, but my dad (who was in the Navy for 25 years) didn't think it would be for me, and said that mom and I did a good job of serving the country alongside him by loyally following him back and forth across the country fives times (California to Pennsylvania in 1990, back to California in 1996, California to Virginia Beach in 1998, Virginia Beach to Washington in 2000, Northern Virginia in 2002; Finally back to Pennsylvania in 2005, where my dad retired in 2007, and we are still living here nearly 15 years later)! If I were in the military, I would 100% be playing games of some sort or finding some way to peruse TW during boring days on the job!
