I have the 4100 and if you don't mind plugging your phone in to use the maps feature It's fine. I really like being able to hit the microphone button to call, send a text or check my schedule. Anything you can do with Google now, you can do with it.

Thanks man. I'm really debating whether I should do it now or wait. Does it charge at the same time when you plug it in? I use google maps pretty much all the time.

It does charge but really slowly. If you want to use the aux/usb combo, you'll need to remove the toyota one in your dash and replace it with the one that fits the pioneer. I just cut it out and hot glued the usb one back in. The reason is the plug end is a different connector. You'd never know since the usb/aux looks the same as stock.

You will not be able to pick up your phone and use your phone at all while using Android Auto unless you unplug it from the radio. It's essentially locked out so all control and use is through the head unit.

If you step to the 8100(?) I think the maps is integrated but I'm not sure if it's Google maps. It's an expensive jump that I didn't feel was worth it.

Thanks. 8100 is way too much. I just need something simple with just the ability to integrate google maps. I couldn't care less about the music feature since I stream everything in the car. I'm going to check it out at the local place here.

I don't know which service you use but if you want to stream Pandora, you need to start the Pandora app before you plug it in or through Bluetooth only. The radio is funny that way. It sucks you can't choose Pandora any other way.

I stream Pandora most of the time. It's nice to be able to skips whenever you want. Other times I stream from Google Play since all of my my music is stored there. So tired of over the air radio that keeps playing ridiculous stuff with a crapload of commercials.

I put all my music on an SD card and plugged it into the radio behind the faceplate. 8 gigs of mp3's.
